lol now if i do an upload that takes all of the blazing 42 kb/s that i can give, my pingtime to my ISP is like in the 780 ms range But with downloads, pings remain the same lol. Downstream rapage doesnt effect my internet browsing speeds, or pingtime... but upload rapage is a WHOLE 'nother story
-
lol you got me scratching my head too... ill try all downlaods and ping testmy.net this time.. Before 4 streams http://s1pwnsyou.camaroz.net/before.jpg After 4 streams http://s1pwnsyou.camaroz.net/after.jpg ^ lol..... seems to be the same deal
-
you know, it just may be the fact that your going via USB, instead of NIC card.. because when i first got my cable ( roadrunner as well) i didnt have a NIC card, and the technician who was installing the cable said i needed one , because these toshiba modems run incrediably slow via USB. so i paid the 20 bucks for the new card ..... you may want to do the same.

lol aol screwed up something good? Theirs a supprise
-
yea.. thats it.. my download is a constant 426 on good servers, and about 385 on REALY large files. That is my max thats the best this 3mb/s connection will do, aka " maxed out "
-
yep thats exactly what they told me lol. I had a bad router, that was basicaly taking packets and kickin g the shit out of them before it got to me and my speeds wouldnt exceed 1.5 mb/s on a 3 mb/s line. Tech support says " well its UP TO 3mb/s [...] ... " i was like ".......you bastard.."
-
lmao... ok fine here you go.. Without a download. http://s1pwnsyou.camaroz.net/wo.jpg With 2 downloads maxing the connection http://s1pwnsyou.camaroz.net/with.jpg The pings remain the same [edit] both resized [/edit]

i had the same prob with cstrike. If you can set your fps to a certain amount ( like in cstrike its fps_max <number> ) set it to about 50 or 60. Because when you host a game, the players needing to connect need the servers fps. when you connect to your own server , your using the servers fps for yourself. When you use too much of the servers fps, it lags and peoples pings shoot up. has nothing to do with your connection

with optimum online, it doesnt matter which package you get, youll deffinatly be on a better connection. OO is one of the best ISP's avaliable for the price. A few people i know from new york ( brooklyn , queens and the stat. island) have OO , and their paying $40.00 for cable, and getting 10mb/s aka T1 speeds. I highly reccomend OO.
-
Oo... even with all my download bandwith taken my ping to my isp remains the same lol
-
I restarted my computer this mornijng after god knows how long, and i went to testmy to do my usual connection test, especialy this morning since my internet was running CRAZY slow... not loading things, just getting them to show up. So i clicked smartest , and 6 times in a row it says and im like "rofl..." so i go to a large® test, and i try it and its saying my connection is blazing http://s1pwnsyou.camaroz.net/hmm.jpg lol... im wondering if my email to the aol techs informing them of the faulty router in the VA datacenter got thru Oo.... hmmm! Oddness lol

realy? have you been monitoring my online status ovr the years?? because i got back into the whole " internet" thing in 1999 , second ever email address was a hotmail/msn account. Now, for the slower folk, lets go back to basics and count shall we? 1 - 2004 2 - 2003 3 - 2002 4 - 2001 5 - 2000 - Second ever email address 6 - 1999 Now that looks like 5 or 6 to me and seeing how hotmail has been around since 1996 ( http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.hotmail.com ) Id say i was about right. So please, before posting, do the research but mabey it hasnt always been 250.. but for a realy long time ..realy long it has been
