  1. Again, if I select a 1Mb test, I should get a 1Mb test ONLY. If I select a 3Mb test, I should get a 3Mb test ONLY. When I'm on a limited bandwidth connection, I'm not interested in wasting 20 or 30 Mb or more just for a speed test. Things like this could be one reason for the drop off in use here. It's also why I never see anyone on other sites recommend TMN for speed tests. I see all kinds of other sites recommended, but never TMN. An accurate test will be accurate no matter the speed of the account you're supposed to be on or the file size selected. And why is there like a 5 minute delay while 'forwarding'? It seems like everything just locks up and stops at the server end and goes out for a cup of coffee. Remember one thing. It's ***NEVER*** about what the site host wants, it's ***ALWAYS** what the end user wants.
  2. That should ONLY apply to the auto-size test. If I select the 1Mb test or any other specific size test, it should NOT forward.

  5. Just think of the HD porn you could watch 24 hours a days, maybe even interactive
  6. Look up Katie Linendoll Any others along that line worth sharing?
  7. Is there any way to verify an XP key and see if it's non-activated? I've come across some old records where I had keys stored but they're not notated if they were ever used. They came as tags on cases on machines that used system builder keys for the initial install.
  8. A better question would be can it be set so that others can't change it?
  9. Patch Tuesday: Microsoft's most security bulletins ever! By Emil Protalinski | Last updated 2 days ago According to the Microsoft Security Response Center, Microsoft will issue 14 Security Bulletins addressing 34 vulnerabilities on Tuesday. It will also host a webcast to address customer questions the following day. Eight of the vulnerabilities are rated "Critical" and six are marked "Important." All of the Critical vulnerabilities earned their rating through a Remote Code Execution impact, meaning a hacker could potentially gain control of an infected machine. At least seven of the 14 patches will require (yeah!) a restart. The list of affected operating systems includes all supported versions of Windows; almost all supported Microsoft Office suites are also vulnerable, including Office 2004 for Mac and Office 2008 for Mac. Those who have upgraded to Microsoft Office 2010 may breathe easy. Silverlight 2 and Silverlight 3 are also on the list, but the latest version, Silverlight 4, is not. Compared to last month's minor Patch Tuesday, this one is massive. In fact, this is the most bulletins Microsoft has ever released in one month. This month's Patch Tuesday does not include a fix for the Windows Shortcut flaw because Microsoft released an out-of-band patch for that one earlier this week. Along with these patches, Microsoft is also planning to release the following on Patch Tuesday: One or more nonsecurity, high-priority updates on Windows Update (WU) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) One or more nonsecurity, high-priority updates on Microsoft Update (MU) and WSUS An updated version of the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool on Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Windows Server Update Services, and the Microsoft Download Center This information is subject to change; Microsoft has been known to rush patches or to pull them as it deems necessary. 10. I say: I would like anyone who has considered buying from this store to be aware that this company is useless and a waste of money. Don't go there.
  11. Well, I'm on StarBand at $50 with a rolling 7 day 1Gb cap which averages about 130Mb/day. Speeds are fine for the most part on the new satellite, but we still get some rain-fade in heavy weather. I take steps such as blocking images to stay well under the cap most days, but even at that I hit about 110Mb the other day just using boards like this. They have a free (non-metered) period between 12Midnight and 6AM Eastern which I use for software updates.
  12. They need to be in the $50 range or less without an unreasonable FAP cap.
  13. http://www.bestbuy.c That says all I need to see. No way do I give them any money at all. Can't stand them.
  14. I was wondering how many of you think the black tie protection plan is worth it? What is it?
  15. You wouldn't get it replaced for one pixel any ways. Most warranties specify the number they'll respond to and it's usually 6-8 dead pixels.

    StarBand NOVA

I don't like Google having access to anything I do beyond basic web searches. Too bad Yahoo trashed their search system or I'd go back there as a default.

Nova is just the type of modem they're using now. Unfortunately they just did a deal with the devil Google. Still waiting to see what that's all about.
  18. Dunno 'bout the 505 lockups, but on the LiOn batteries ...... Had this one charged when I shut it off Tuesday morning and on startup tonight it still showed 97% full.
  19. Don't have a Toshiba, but in the few weeks I've had mine, I've been letting to battery run down, then recharging it while in use. If I have the notebook on for 9 or 10 hours, I'll let it run from a full charge down to when the 10% warning appears, then plug it back in until it shows 100%. I get about 2 1/2 hours, but it's a 17" wide screen (Gateway N79u).
  20. Thought I found my first glitch, but it turned out not to be. When I plugged the Logitech Trackball in, the system drivers installed and the mouse worked. But when I tried to install the Logitech software from the included CD, the install failed. A visit to the Logitech site showed that the CD was out of date by several versions for some reason. Downloaded the newer 64 bit version and it installed fine.
