  1. I mentioned in another forum that I was getting hit with at least 300 spams a day.
  2. That's concerning. I'm sure I'm seeing as many as 6 to 8 of the ...direcpc.com connections in Kerio.
  3. Were you torrenting before DirecWay?
  4. That was just an edit post, if you list properties on the e-mail there are 50 or more DWay e-mail accounts getting them. I am one of many.
  5. No guys. The emails are to "multiple names" all @DirecWay.com. They must be using a name generator and running down the alphabet. Andrews is kinda near the top. I've been using Microsoft Antipsyware for a few months now. AntiVirus says I'm clean. I saw this on my dialup ISP. The spamers were using random names, or actually hacked into the ISP and got it. That ISP installed Postini, and nailed about 95% of the spam. I know none of these people, but we're all getting solicited for low interest mortages. [snip] [snip] [snip] [snip] Note: I added the .no.spam. to thart any e-mail scan bots. edit: for privacy protection
  6. 95 e-mails, 2 real ones and 93 spams from 10am this morning to 6pm tonight. I've been watching G-Lock hit one at least every 15 minutes. DirecWay, hello, spam filter @ the ISP, hello. DWay meet Postini, Postini meet DWay. This has got to start effecting throughput of their system soon.
  7. Thanks, but that really won't work for me: 1-Already well into the 15mo contract 2-Went to DWay to free up the phone line for business. 3-I was lucky to get 49kbps dialup. Kerio's D/L monitor showed blazing 1 to 2k downloads. It would seem that the older one-way DWay might have been more reliable, but with no local DWay exchange, costs would be prohibitive. I am going to edit the "resetlog.txt" file and see what is getting appended. Looks like the netsh command and a reboot are handling it most of the time. The x2 rebooting is really a pain, but if it works. Contrary to what I've heard, the Level 2 tech claimed he had nothing of problems with new Hughes sat coming online and interferring with this. Backroadz, you really think SP2 is the culprit? I am so many SP2 patches into it, I think I'll have to a low level format to get back.
  8. I've posted here before on this, but it actually reached a point where I broke down and called tech support.
  9. I think Hughes has to do something to compete. The cable industry just announced new upgrades for their system which will increase speed by 1600%. Next generation of cable modems to hit the street in 2008. (USA Today 4-25-05 http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2005-04-05-speed-usat_x.htm). My buddy at work has Insight Broadband. He's hitting 375k D/Ls consistently and considering the extra few bucks for their Broadband-512k. He claims to have never hit a FAP or GB download limit. Short of hosting a website, he's the heaviest bandwidth user I know. What ever happened to the electrical company's entrance into all of this? Besides phone, that's the only wire hanging on the pole in front of my house.
  10. I was downloading a taper friendly band's show yesterday afternoon when I saw my D/L speed jump from 24kBs to 174kBs (1.3Mbs) on my DW6000. The D/L program is a peer to peer ap, so you are normally limited by the peer's U/L bandwidth. Wierd. A little later, Testmy speed results were showing a normal @ 97kBs with the 20+/-kBs download still active.
  11. Guess where I also can't logon to? Direcway. I did a google search and readded the http://*. line to expections. Still no good.
  12. Maybe some can help me? I installed Java runtime 1.4.2 this weekend and now can't log onto my eBay account (I removed it with no luck). I get the site just fine, but get a blank page when I click over to log in. The eBay help desk said that I needed to upgrade to Java 1.5. When I get on Sun's site to D/L Java 1.5, I get the same blank page when I click on download. I obviously logged on here just fine. I am running a proxy connection at 192.168.0.1 on a DW6000 which automatically detects setting, but my advance setting have the following exceptions: "direcwaysupport.com;192.168.0.1".
  13. Really? I can't get it any better. (Same question in also "sizzle post") I'm using automatic detection, not proxy. When I set it up as described, no connection? Do I need to assign a static IP? This machine has never been networked. I'm running XP Home SP2. Straight Ethernet cable from to the DW6000.
