    REVISED - REAL WORLD VERSION

    I revised that . . . .

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Top Ten Reasons Not to Use HughesNet.

    1) They play games with their FAP in order to force you to upgrade. (Going from a HN7000 to an HN9000 yielded no better response)

    2) They are oversold. (moving HN7000 users to HN9000/Spaceway)

    3) They cannot provide the service that they promise.

(famous words from ECC William. "Service and speed levels are NOT guaranteed).

    4) Their tech support is terrible. (outsourced, only read from flowcharts and scripts)

    5) Language barrier when contacting tech support in India.

    6) Tech support doesn't listen. All they can tell you to do is speed tests.

    7) Customer service sucks. Billing support in the Phillipines is terrible. (always use form emails)

    8) Installer sucks. They dont tighten bolts and forget to run ground wires.

    9) Slow, slow, slow, s l o w! Can you say THROTTLE? NOC, we hate you!

    10) The 9000 also sucks! Constant reboots. Average twice daily. Overheats.

Noc downloads throttling software into it.

  2. ECC musta have got tired of hearing you bitch, and gave you what you wanted ! LOL  :2funny:

My speed is still good on during a good soaking steady rain....dark green/yellow on radar.....signal on the HN9000 reduced to around 150

  3. Anything else I could provide?    There's all the information you could ever need to complain about

    your Hughesnet service ! ! !

You should have read the kiss-a** email William sent me.  these people definately know how to kiss the BBB's A** as well.

anyway, I forwarded the bank the 36 pages of emails I had sent Hughes about service related, and their 36 "form" responses that basically stated the same thing....

At least, the bank ruled in my favor.  I did not have to pay any of that.  And I'll NEVER remit a dime to NCO!

    I won this battle!

Now "THATS" what I call getting right to the top.

  4. Actually, I believe a very high percentage dont even know there is any means of contact beyond Indian tech support or Philipino Billing support.

I've read in many posts that tech and billing support tells customers there is NO where else they can write or call...Of course, they are trained to say that.

Being sent to ECC is possible from having SO MANY logged calls or emails they are at the end of the rope....they seriously dont know what to do.....then they dump customers off on ECC......OR people complain to the BBB, thus being contacted by ECC.... OR they find the [email protected] or [email protected] contact information.

DAMN IT!  I had the # to ECC and the current PIN #, but I deleted it from my email in disgust.  I should have POSTED it here! LOL

Anyway, I'm not going to be bullied by NCO. they're a joke. I told WILLIAM I was not paying it, and that the bank had ruled my chargeback in my favor.  If it does end up on my credit report, I have access to all 3 bureaus to dispute it!      And the saga continues!

Hughes makes it quite a task to get anywhere with either a phone call or email to executive customer care......I'm sure quite a high percentage gives up or does not even bother. I wouldn't pay the bill either, you can always dispute the negative on your credit report too, likely its already on.

  5. I can assure that telephone call today wasn't pretty.

William called me after I forwarded my email I previously sent to them about this collection notice

about 20 times (to [email protected] and [email protected]).

After about 20 times, they must have blocked my email address, since they bounced back.  Then about 2

minutes later a call from 301-428-5500...Yep, its Hughes.

In short, I told him how their their own NOC is screwing customers and making people at ECC miserable.

He told me i *MUST* pay the balance owed.  I told him I didn't HAVE to do anything......Since the bank

ruled my chargeback in my favor (with the 20 so pages of documentation AGAINST them).

GEES, let me name the ways I hate these people!

Sounds like you might enjoy that phone call....

    :

  6. I've dealt with NCO before on a Comcast account where they tried to jip me....Was supposed to be like

$19.95 for 12 months, and they'd only honor it for 6 months(although I had all the printouts and order history).

I only paid the $19.95 after the 6 months....I think they cut the service off in the 8th month, and sent it to NCO.

I never seen it on my credit report though.  I think some collections agencies have more power to report than others.  Doesn't matter. I have a high enough credit score where 1 ding wont matter (and its not like they are

    claiming thousands of dollars).

Ya know, A lot of people in your position, from the start, would of just taken the Hughesnet crap up the backside.  :buck2:

And now the thing that people crap their pants about(and stops any intension of fighting for whats right) is happening to you. A feeble attempt at freaking up your credit history.

So now you will have to wait a month or two before your next purchase of a Yacht. And that fabulous island off of the Arab Emirates.  :evil6: :evil6: :evil6: :evil6: :evil6: :evil6:

  7. Hey, I'm getting sucky speeds tonight, just like Hughesnet!!!!!!  they claim something is wrong with the USB modem, and sending me another one . . . We'll see.

By this point, you should see Hughesnet has HIGHS and lows.

Its just like Wireless Broadband...up and down.... But still a hellofalot better than satellite.

At least the signal is bouncing 7 miles away, not 2300+ miles.

  8. So..... it IS finding viruses, and malware, right?

I was gonna put it on my notebook pc too.  I've been using windows defender for a while too.

It is going to be interesting, because i have this machine in here for no other reason then over 900 virus's have been detected, and 309 spyware / malware (whatever traking cookies ect... have been detected. The full scan has been running as of right now for 1:15:59 , almost complete.

There are verifiable turds all over the thing, by me ! I get page redirects when trying to access the internet on FF, and IE will not do anything other then start. The system won't allow me to even download AVG free, never seen it. This is by far, the worst, most whatever infected system I have ever come across , so absolutely optimal time to test this new software.

For those who want to know what happens when i click the cnet download button for AVG free, the system redirects to a spoof site that contains the words avgfree, and a couple other keys that randomly change AFTER the roughly "800 Kb" download. That system should be in Guiness for even starting !

  9. My HN7000S pointed at H1 was around 80 seemed to change with software updates as well as Xpol readings...I forget the low # on the signal before service dropped out..seems around 40 if my memory is correct.

Signal on a HN9000 normally is around 180-160.  I have seen it as high as 200.

Here's a trick.  If you experience an outage in heavy rain, your signal is low but you are still connected.....

Go into the ADVANCED control panel (the little man/wizard)......Go into the menu where you SUBMIT USAGE and AUDIT DATA.....do that about 10 times, about 30 seconds apart (or set the update interval to that)......

I guarantee you your signal level will improve.  I think it reports this info to the NOC, and it automatically boosts a stronger signal.  Now, taking, you have VERY HEAVY DOWNPOUR and hail, dont expect it to work, period.

  10. It does seem the HN9000 works well in harsh weather as today my signal dropped from normally 170-180 to below 70 at times, still good speeds....also noticed the NWP number increased to in the 50's which is normally around 35-37. The rain was heavy enough the older Ku system likely wouldn't have worked.....this part is actually an upgrade.

That is an advantage of the HN9000 and the newer dish.  Its come a monster storm here, and I've sit and watched the signal degrade, and pick back up.  i been surfin' when its literaly pouring down rain.

I think that's its ONLY advantage, though! LOL  :2funny:

  11. I dont understand this country sometimes . . . . with so many people out of work, people starving, people with no place to live.... WHY should I care if the moon has ICE OR WATER below its surface...??????

Of course, the taxer payers foot this fill @ 75 million.......Dont we have better things to be inquiring about?

    :knuppel2:  :knuppel2:  :tickedoff:  :tickedoff:  :mad2:  :mad2:

I never really understood the full function of NASA anyway, except blowing assloads of money with little gain....

Has a hyperactive five-year-old taken over as the director of NASA? It sure seems like it. On Friday morning, an unmanned spacecraft launched in June will crash into the moon's surface. On purpose.

Anyone not named Michael Bay is likely to ask why. Here's the answer: NASA wants to know if the twin impacts of the Lunar Crater Observation and its Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) will reveal any ice or water under the moon's surface.

Finding out shouldn't be an issue. When the twin crafts hit the lunar surface at around 6,000 mph, NASA expects "plumes of moon dust

  12. Hughes didn't think that one out very good did they ? ? ?  Of course moving a large number of 7000 users

over to Spaceway WOULD create congestion.  BAD NOC! ! ! BAD BAD NOC ! !

I've had a charge back from June when I cancelled.  Hughes provided a rebuttal saying I owed $206.38.

You should have seen the HUGE mess of paperwork they sent the back.  It was NOTHING more than ALL 46 times I'd either called or emailed them about service issues.

They're SO STUPID.  How is that documentation on their side?    it is THE documentation I should have provided the bank for REASONS I SHOULD NOT PAY THEM.

In almost EVERY ONE of the case id's....Hughes used the same canned response.

I would NEVER bestow this service on anyone, ever again..... HUGHES, YOU SUCK!

I got a phone call earlier today from executive support, heres what they telling me:

The engineering dept is well aware of the terrible speed drops and are currently working on the fix for HN9000 customers....the Ka band is getting swarmed by all the people moving from the older Ku systems and new installs. The beams are not overloaded but the hubs or gateways is the bottleneck....more hubs are going to be used in the next 30days to eliminate the congestion.

Will wait it out and see what happens

also 30days free for me  :cool2:

  13. did you ever check into Mobile Broadband ? ?  Do you have any VERIZON towers in your area?

I have a Verizon Mobile Broadband card.,  Works a hell of a lot better than Hughes ever did.....

(goes thru Millenicom . . no contract, no taxes.)

I just was at my brothers forgot to notice the account # format but did notice the software version on his HN9000 is different than mine.... home plan on his modem, as of right now his home plan is at full speed around 1000k where as my pro+ is around 500k at the same time of test. Had I known the new account would have made a performance difference would have gone that route. At this point have filed a BBB claim emailed and called executive customer care and emailed [email protected] had one evening since install this Ka band system has had advertised speeds. There is just no other high speed available, only prospect is the power company is going to try broadband over powerline (BOP) maybe in the spring, but by the time they test it and providing it works still looking at 2011 likely if all goes well, until then guess it HughesNet.
