  4. you cant, that is were your taffic is being routed through. if you run a trace route to a different address does the same thing happen.
  5. Damn i want verizon. that would be really nice to have that 50/5 connection.
  6. depends DSL can be faster then cable, cable can be faster then DSL. right now cable ISPs are offering more speed. But once AT&T comes around with there "project light speed", then DSL will be faster.
  7. well its most likey just another router, its outside your ISP so that is why the ping is so high.
  8. no DOS is a microsft thing somewhat, Paul Allen bought a portio of DOS from someone then he finshed it. Bill gates was going to sell it to IBM but IBM wouldnt pay what bill wanted. Bill Gates stole the GUI operating system from xerox
  9. you can find more about it here http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-14498
  10. you are probally just on comcasts new "Boost" thing try this test and see, if you get about the same result then you are. http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php?&st=st&tt=1&ta=1&top=000&out_src=20MB
  11. they are expensive no matter what you do. but they are really well built. i never had 1 problem with my T30. i would have to say they are the second best laptops you can get right behind Toshiba.
  12. those results are different becuase with a larger file you get a more accurate result becuase it has more time to test the download speed. dont worry about it saying your running at 30% that is just a average of all AOL users and some tests from aol get 10mbps. the reason AOL software is different becuse it does local caching on aol servers so most of the time you get a insanely fast result that you dont really have. but in your case you got a slower result which makes me think that the cach server has alot of traffic on it and it was slowing you down, testing throught another browser like IE does not use aols cach servers so you get a real result. anyways nice speed that is were you should be.
  13. it could have just been a bad test the first time, you should always run it a few time. and since your on DSL 1.8mbps is probally going to be about the max your going to get. try running this test. http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php?step1_timed=&step1_size=&step1_validation=&testall=&s=5983&st=st&ni=ni&ta=&top=&tt=1&nobar=
  14. they are more then $500 if you go to crucial its $1738 for a 2gb stick. http://www.crucial.com/store/ListParts.asp?mfr=Dell&model=XPS+M1710
  15. this speed test is very accurate. is your internet DSL or cable? and what did you use to tweak your connection?
  16. thats one long fucken word
  17. Diran Hans, an MJallday welcome to the forum MJallday nice speed for your plan. Diran Hans thats a really good test result for being that far away.
  18. nat85 welcome to the fourm. dont do a download test throught AOL. use IE or Firefox to run the test.
  19. yes its normal, that upload could be as much as 1mbps, even with the download at 1mbps.
  20. nice it is funny, but im not suprised, i knew they had done it before.
  21. i don't know how this is just getting around, intel has had stuff like this for years, and has concept motherboard that has memory that holds data, for the operating system. samsung actually has a laptop in japan that almost boots up instantly. all you have to wait for is the bios to do its thing. The laptop has extra ram on it for the operating system and keeps it there all the time.
  22. :haha: :haha: if you want a blowjob go to shug its alot cheaper
  23. true, but 4 grand for ram thats alot.
  24. no you saw correctly, the xseries doesnt have a touch pad, all the others do. sorry for not posting the right link.
