So things are slow enough where you know it's not just busy servers, and that there must be an issue somewhere ? Because your download speed is good. Ping testmy.net, and post your results, while your at it, do a trace route as well.
-
Ok then , I'm guessing you have some sort of tracker , or are being re directed. Do you use spybot , if not download it and scan.
-
I'm wondering what your using for a firewall, anything besides windows internal ?
-
I payed a visit to both sites, and there is a hesitation on my end as well, for instance, goto cnn.com , it's loading so slow it's sick, tell me how slow or fast yours is there.
-
Does it matter where ie: what website you visit , that the pictures load slow ?
-
Hey sharky2009 have you tried a different browser ? Just so we can locate the issue.
-
I guess I should have looked at it, instead of skimming it
-
Run the download test that you'll see in the upper left hand corner of the page, post the results. Then we can get started.

Remonds me of that movie " mummy returns : or something like that , remember ? Those little shits that piled outta the ground like a volcano and ate peoples flesh like it was nothin, even the frickn bones and shit

You have a simple IP conflict, thats all. First, disconnect the cat 5 from the modem to the router, do a manual reset on your modem( if it is cable) you should be able to do this within the modem config page. If you have done a full reset on the router, ( make sure to hold in the reset button for at least one minute just to be sure), then immediately unplug the device from power for at least 15 minutes. While your waiting , go into both machines and delete all and any connections. Go into device manager, and un install any and all network devices ( make sure you have the drivers on hand before doing this ) it can be a real pain to get a driver w/o a connection lol ) Do your restarts, and follow the instructions for installing the devices when prompted to by windows. Plug the modem back in, wait till your connection is established. Make sure you connect the cat 5 to the modem, then power up the router. Once the router gets an IP from the modem, power up one machine only. You should be assigned an IP, and have your connection. Then do your wireless thing. You will have a connection if the router is configured properly, no matter what if anything the router is plugged into.

WOW, sweet !!!!!!

The dated stuff can be just as good, in many cases better , or more durable from my experience, so don't underestimate your hardware
-
Either way, you should consider yourself lucky to have that kind of speed, it's awesome ! I would thank my dad for paying for this if it were me.
-
This is a good score, do you know what bandwidth package you are on ?
-
You probably have a nasty in there, considering your java was plowed, and this. In the last week, the machines I have in for service have tripled, look for vundo, it's making a rage of a comeback, as well as several other trojans, nasty ones as well, I can't tell where there getting them yet, when I do, if I do , I'll post. I think it's something in an email.

Sounds like a DHCP issue. Is there any other component in your network besides the modem and this router ? ( i didn't re read the thread) edit: re read your last post, just reset the connection on the non wireless machine, and turn DHCP on in the router
-
Not bad at all buntz ! Gotcha. You have the option to run certain 64 bit programs on a 32 bit system, cool
-
I don't want to derail this thread, but I noticed you were running WOW64, and i was curious what applications you ran that needed it ?
-
Glad you joined, there's quite a bit of info here on port forwarding, and room for more , if anyone has any

I waited , a while, and thought wether or not I wanted to know what this was, and I do, I think, so long as it doesn't drip, spit, peel, puss, or stand at attention during the national anthem :haha: Imagine that Smart man, he knows himself
