I use it for VOIP, this makes the VOIP router priority higher incase there is heavy network traffic. I would use the advertised bandwidth. Not at all unless you have a machine that you don't care what the usage is,and uses a lot, and will be limited when there is other network traffic.

Good question there, although I can't answer, I have to ask, why don't you just do some port forwarding, or port triggering instead? I've messed around a bit w/ internal static IP's , but never really found a use for them, in at least my applications. Other than a printer, and or a local FTP. I'm looking forward to hearing what else comes up. EDIT: You have me thinking this may help me w/ my issues. I have too much crap connected. I have a couple of FTP, the one is on a separate domain within the local network, and is unable to connect to the other network router, I'm going to set up a static for the second router and see where that gets me, if thats possible. lol

I think this is the one for that, w/o the MS software. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}shellRegedit] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}shellRegeditcommand] @="regedit.exe" If I'm not confused as to what exactly your looking for.

I gotta say, this must be a very simple answer. Ever notice how we look deep into something, and miss the simple stuff? lol I have to ask again, did you use the reset button on the router yet?

First you need to download control panel applet for XP from Here Then Save the following as text "Shortcuts.Reg" and double click the file. REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}] "LocalizedString"=hex(2):25,55,53,45,52,4e,41,4d,45,25,27,73,20,43,6f,6d,70,75,74,65,72,00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}shellregedit] @="Registry" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}shellregeditcommand] @="C:WindowsRegedit.exe" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}shelltweak] @="Tweak" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}shelltweakcommand] @="C:WINDOWSsystem32tweakui.exe" You'll find the shortcut by right clicking "My Computer" if thats what you have it named.

I feel like picking a fight: Why is Cuba the devil?
mudmanc4 replied to Le_Murphant's topic in General Discussion
To sum it up, from what I was taught, Cuba was going to allow Russia ie:Soviet Union at the time, , to place Nuclear missiles 90 miles off the coast , that alone would be one reason, but it goes much further. You have to remember what you learned in the Spanish American war. We actually were given control over Cuba by the Spaniards, they ceded. and we gave Cuba there independence. The man that controlled Cuba then felt that prices for land were outrageous, (or something like that, and gave us some shit, then Castro overran this guy, and claimed he would rein for his life! there is a lot more, a lot! IMO, it has to do today , due to the drugs, hell we are still Cuba's largest cash crop importer, and the US government wants to keep full control over this. Besides, we really own Cuba , from what I remember. -

Have you reset the router by holding in the button for at least 15 + seconds? I sounds to me as if you have two programs trying to manage the wireless connection. Did you use an install disk when you first set up the router? If so , I would recommend disabling windows wireless zero configuration by Start> (type) "run services.msc" w/o the quotes , look for " Wireless Zero Configuration", and in the drop down menu select "disable". Press the "stop" button. If you cannot connect to your router, then enable it again, sometimes systems react differently. Otherwise I would say make sure your SSID is correct in the machine as it is in the router( if you have security enabled.

Weather or not these are facts on this particular article or not, you have to hear what the man (B.H.O) is saying as a whole. (I'm a politician, I lie my ass off like the rest of them, I'll stop at nothing, unless I get caught, and most of all, I am here to see how many of you are truly oblivious to what is really going on, so wrapped up in the hate of this country and the people that built it, and defend it, because you know you can't do for yourself, and you need much more regulation in your lives, that he who possesses these traits before me , will vote for me because you are a lost follower that needs my assistance due to the fact you have screwed up this country so bad you don't know what reality is, My people I am the savior that you have been waiting for , vote for me, vote for change, and hope, because your hopeless, and you need change, because if you believe this your more lost that I thought..................blahahaha, blahh, blahhh...... Tommie I think were going to hear in the next several months , just what truth there is to be told on some of the lies that have been told recently. BTW, change my ass! Tell me no one ever heard the saying " the more things " change" the more they stay the same" ? -
I'd like to make a comparison to the testmy.net's now, and the new one soon to come. Compare your ping times. help.. my pc automatically power-on when i turn-on the AVR..
mudmanc4 replied to megabytez's topic in Networking and Hardware
I think he's talking about a power backup. Automatic Voltage Regulator) If thats the case, I have had issues w/ a system turning on when I plugged it in, after a crash, I found out that I had a bad memory module. Maybe running a memtest of some sort , whatever you might have, may eliminate the option. Or download this one > http://www.memtest.org/ -
Thats " Dynamic DNS " Which is used to " mimic" static IP address for various reasons. Lets start over. Just shut everything down, wait a few minutes, 3-5, then begin powering things back on, beginning with the modem. Then when all the lights are on ie: UL ~ Dl ~ internet, of what ever else, then the router, when the lights are all on , then boot the machine(s).
-
Goto your routers interface and see if the DNS servers are there................

Have you installed "cablenut as of yet? There are many ccs files ( files that are specific to your connection) that you can down load. Start here https://testmy.net/topic-1013, then there are other things you can do as well, keeping in mind you are simply tweaking your connection to get the most out of it, but the bandwidth that your ISP provides is really your bottleneck.

Welcom never4saken . Look around on your interface to find settings for bandwidth useage, most likely the "breakup" is due to insufficient upload bandwidth.
