Yes , we know, but you must take in consideration, he's been around for a while Welcome brunolechef, test often, and repeatedly, there is always network traffic , sometimes holding us back from showing us the true potential of our connection. Thats why this site is the best, it shows actual readings.

Good question ! If you own , or have access to a multimeter, take a bit of water in a glass, place the meter settings on "Ohms" and place the probes into the water, they will show " continuity" or some. The ions (positive and negitively charged)in the water will carry the oppositly charged, but if the ions are removed , you could actually submerge your computer in the de- ionized water as well true, I have done this in a tech class. This however won't last because pure water in agressive and will soon dissolve metals such as copper and lead, making the water acidic or alkaline. Somebody help me here, it's been a while

LMK if this is close to what your looking for .

Worst mass virus/spyware/malicious software ever developed !

Not sure, you have me curiouse enough to look into it further. Here's a comparison for you, I have 15/7, from TWC. Downstream Power -7.2 dBmV Upstream Power 46.8 dBmV Look into the splitter, and cables, as well as the ends, make sure they are in good condition. From what I read, this plays a big part.

Do the ram timings, as well as the rest of the settings not show in the BIOS? Just set them to 1:1 , and see how that goes, unless you have already.............

And I'm gettin there lol

Mineral oil submerged computer video. Apparently, mineral oil is non conductive, and cools quite well. I haven't seen this one before, so if it has been posted before, well............

Alright, what exactly are you trying to accomplish? See how far you can overclock?

If you can afford to have a computer, and pay the electric bill, you can afford to pay for your programs, theivery! Thats all it is, goes to show the real makup of people, and who they really are. -
No, me to, seems to fluccuate quite a bit, when I d/l , generally I get between 1.4 - 1.6MB, but testing shows nothing of the sort.

When you say "OEM" you either mean you bought the HDD stand alone, and installed it, or do you mean it was in the machine , pre loaded w/ Vista? If it is the second, is there a "backup drive " showing as well? If so, thats one of the reasons there is no space to remove partition. Use "gparted live cd" http://download.tuxfamily.org/gpartedlive/ , D/L the 1st ISO on the list , you can boot to this cd) to make any adjustments you want. But be sure you know exactly what you are changing, and watch the " flags" section. Change as little as possible when deleting a partition. The EXT3 partition is what Linux/Ubuntu (formated on Ubuntu installation as) uses as well as a swap, ans possibly a combination of others as well. But not sure why they weren't deleted during uninstall.

ok then, can you post your timings, it could be your memory is overclocked by the timings. Any thing below the stock settings would be considered OCed. Like if the stock was 5-5--5-12, and they are set @ 4-4-4-12, (just an example.

Not being super familiar w/ linked ~unlinked , I'll take a stab, and say you need to update your bios to the latest version.

Hi Raistlin666, Since we aren't sure of the configuration, and boot files, I would reccommend that you download a version of "gparted live" @ http://download.tuxfamily.org/gpartedlive/, this is a live cd where you will be able to partition, and set flags on your drive as well as erase the partition you want . Set as boot , or many other options. Always install windows first, then the Linux distro, was it Mandriva that you installed , just pay attention to the partitioning, and know which one is what .( would be my guess if the partition tables got mess up) Or Ubuntu?

My thoughts are Comcast is still working on there network in getting things the way they need them, When TWC took over Adelphia, I had similar issues, maybe just be patient w/ them and watch how they change there network. Hell, for me, the change over has been nearly 18 months, and I still see some of Adelphia's server names from time to time. EDIT: BTW, it all worked out for the better after several months of insanity lol

I beg to differ on that one, although I'm sure in many cases you may be right. I have a system, AMD 3200+ 2GiB PC 3200 400 MB bus, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro , and so on, I used for three + years w/ ATI panel to OC the card, the system was OC'ed to 2400 Mhz, I had the ratio , (bus~CPU) off the hook, don't remember, and I don't feel like restarting because it has been up for a month w/ Mandriva 08 folding it's ass off), w/ Oblivion lV, and G3 running @ near max settings, And the only thing that happend was I burned up the crappy stock fan till I installed a huge Zalman. Card runs great, still! Before the 9800 Pro, I had the 9700 Pro, ( still got it in another exact same system, No issues other than the damn heat killin the fans :evil6: Granted , you OC the shit out of em', for long periods of time, I'm sure somethins gonna give.

Hi Saria, I am aware of a major server upgrade that has recently been done, while the site owner has diligently made sure everything is performing as it should, there are still a few things to be worked out. I'm sure a Mod , or an Admin will chime in on this, and be able to answer any further questions , and in further detail. : )
