There are a couple netstat commands that could give you the information you might need. First , find out if there are others connecting to your machine by typing (in the cmd) " netstat -p TCP" You can also use the "-n " switch to display them in numeric. Also, if you suspect a virus or trojan use " netstat -e 10 " this will show you the bytes being transferred in real time , and refreshes every ten seconds. If you arent transferrend anything t the time , and this shows alot of activity, well, you get the picture. To find out which programs (like your browser) are connected , and which IP it is associated with use " netstat -p TCP -b " Run the netstat command with the -b switch and look for "timed_wait" , go into task manager and kill that process, it's holding you back. Let us know how your doing

Welcome to testmy.net localhost0. Please use the traceroute function found in "tools" menu and post. or by cmd. It would also be helpful to do a download test, as well as an upload test and post them here.

Hi zhjer, welcome to testmy.net. Have you went to : start>run> and typed "cmd" , then typed "netstat" to see all active connections? And how long have you had DSL, as well as how long has the modem been up, or on without resetting? Also how are the wires in your place? Are they newer, or older? Please post these things, as well as the modem model # and your connection speed that you are supposed to be getting from your ISP, and who is your ISP. edit, you could also install cablenut, and find the correct css file from http://www.testmy.net/topic-1013

Time outs on Cable Modem VoIP drops
mudmanc4 replied to purewhitelight's topic in General Discussion
I have Vonage VOIP, and had the same issue's for some time. It had to do w/ a bad card in the local node. In the mean time, check your upload speeds, VOIP depends on both up/down stream redundancy. There should be settings in the configuration of your VOIP , either in the router, or on there web based interface to control bandwidth, have you tried this? If no luck, you could try setting a QOS in your router config, if the router you have ( not listed) allows for it. I use a separate router for internal traffic , and set the VOIP router on a DMZ with mac filtering to allow for full bandwidth . I would be looking at my upload speeds for the issue. Welcome to the testmy.net forum. -
I'm stumped! My connection is 15/768 TWC Lynksys BEFCMU10 Modem Lynksys BEFSX41 router / as well as RT31P2 Voip router, WT54G for the WiFi , and a EZXS16W Switch for the many other box's and FTP's. I have had this bandwidth issue recently that I cannot locate. I know it is internal due to the fact that by itself , ( modem ) I'm pulling as follows https://testmy.net/stats/id-R3IPWUAVT With ANY of the stated routers, and or many deifferent cables, bandwidth is cut by 50% or less, as follows https://testmy.net/stats/id-4I0XBYE5Q https://testmy.net/stats/id-J6K4W891Y I have tried many things, including resetting all routers, and modem, so the mac filters are gone, the ip filters are gone, as well as the QOS , VPN's , everything set to defaults. Tried on Mac OSX, several Linux machines, and windows. The same outcome. This is a consistant issue for the last 5-7 days. Basically, if I place a router in the network, (or create a network) with as little as one machine ,any machine, the issue shows itself. Here is the modem current info. The forum rules need to be reiterated due to recent events:

Don't look forward to seeing another room that one could flame in very soon. Simply because at one time, there was such a place. But it got bad, and spilled out on the rest of the forum. Not unlike other forums that have so called " flamerooms". As far as the insanity comment, it is true, and I say it to myself way to often -
Should we look @ the problem of overheating first? Not that a cooler is the wrong way to go, but that depends on $$$ and preference, right?

Butt kissin is fun and rewarding, as long as there's no brown nosin , thats when it git's fugly Wisdom? damn, I hear that often, but I realize if I were that wise, I would not make the assumptions I do, and the seemingly perpetual ridiculous decisions time and time again. I suppose thats the definition of insanity, " doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different outcome" :2funny: -

Are we done kissin each others butts yet? No? ok then, I love you all, your my friends, I spend many hours of my life here listening , learning, and laughing, I have made several personal good freinds since I have been here, and I wouldn't trade it for nothin! I think I have conflicted w/ many of you ( for those who I haven't , be patient I'll get to ya!) , but thats how people get to know one another, and create bonds that cannot be broken. So when something happens , it concerns me. It's ok to have conflicts, thats life, but to degrade for personal satisfaction , well, c'mon, we all know what hurts, so pause maybe? Then do it constructively so someone doesn't lash out , out of pain. Good to be part of this warped family -
I like the rulez one you posted MJFSOL hahaha For those who don't git the thing below, free BSD, and Linux
