bryanlautt Posted October 21, 2006 Author CID Share Posted October 21, 2006 There is my test. of course it is 3:30am in the morning here lol. No i get faster results with Speakeasy and i always get around 12 with my isp test server and then i get around 20 or so with charters test site. Frogger always is around 9 to 10, i guess it depends on where the servers are at and how close because i know speak easy in chi. is always around 17 to 18mb. I noticed this test site has been pausing in the middle of runs. today it was around 6 while all the others reported as normal. :::.. dlewis23 Posted October 21, 2006 CID Share Posted October 21, 2006 try cearing your cache before you test. it can make a difference.
tommie gorman Posted October 21, 2006 CID Share Posted October 21, 2006 Like dlewis said. Clear your cache, disk clean up, defrag, and restart your modem. Daily items for me. Does make a difference in speeds and efficiency.

I think with my over 15 years of PC Repair i should know weather its my system or not and if it was my system all the other test sites would report bad results as well.......Just like you always get a second opinion on your car or even a dr. bryanlautt Posted October 23, 2006 Author CID Share Posted October 23, 2006 That was my latest at this site Thats alright but i used to get around 13 to 17 here. theres probably some routing issues or node issues along the way to the test server from where i live. My honest guess is your constantly being dropped because of the speeds your getting.. If your at a constant 30 + mbs the network is going to cut you off at the knees so you dont " rape " the alocated bandwidth for your areas kernal. The network only alocates so much bandwidth per area. If 1 user is using 50+ % of the alowed bandwidth for the area their gunna cut you off to prevent others from getting nothing. That would be my guess.
