dn0 Posted April 18, 2010 CID Share Posted April 18, 2010 Question for the techies. I was testing a 50/5 connection the other day and could only pull about 30mbps with my WinXP laptop. One of our data people said that XP won't be able to pull down the higher speeds without messing with the TCP/IP settings. But he was unable to elaborate at the time. Does anyone here know any more about this? I also was told Windows 7 does not have this issue.
xs1 Posted April 20, 2010 CID Share Posted April 20, 2010 Has something to do with the tcp stack. Try my fios file and see if it applies. Some pc's that have tried it said it worked, others said it didnt apply. It was sent to me by Microsofts techie station. Roco Posted April 25, 2010 CID Share Posted April 25, 2010 Xp @ 50Mbps ? , I guess that was a dream back in 2001, but I can recomend TCP optimiser , it makes a back up , although my version stops a 20Mbps , maybe later versions go all the way up ? ,
