resopalrabotnick Posted August 16, 2005 CID Share Posted August 16, 2005 your anger is maybe well placed, you expected more speed, but then look at the people that need something faster than dialup and live out in the sticks. they would be happy to triple their speed, if they need it badly enough. "they would be happy to triple their speed" , to respond this i will only say that nobody has a high speed connection to surf webs if you know what i mean. scooterz56 Posted August 17, 2005 CID Share Posted August 17, 2005 The new 7000 series modems are supposed to be availale 9/1, you might want to check and see if your VAR has any info on those. The upload on the 7000's is a lot better than the 6000's.

sainted_s Posted August 25, 2005 CID Share Posted August 25, 2005 A 7000 model? Hughes got people with the 6000, probably another ploy to increase the heartache of long-suffering dway users. When you don't think they can go any lower, they offer something even worse. I thank god I still have the 4000 and I'll be saying goodbye to dway if it ever breaks down. team28439 Posted August 25, 2005 CID Share Posted August 25, 2005 I just got my 6000 yesterday and I am incredibly disappointed in the speed. I really though I would be able to tel the difference with my dial up but I am not sure it was worth the money i am going to end up paying for this. the installer was at my home from 10-5 trying to get this installed and downloaded. He sat on the phone with direcway for an hour waiting for them to answer and never did. They never told me about a 7000. Should I have waited? :::.. tonyswhirl Posted October 11, 2005 CID Share Posted October 11, 2005 you can always complain to the attorney general of your state - in most states it is against the law to misrepresent. If enough people complain you may at least get out the contract - not much help I know but better then nothing - you will notice on there directv ads they always say how fast it is but never show you
ghostmaster Posted October 11, 2005 CID Share Posted October 11, 2005 Any speed less than 200Kbps is considered unacceptable to Dway.
FromPlanetBob Posted October 14, 2005 CID Share Posted October 14, 2005 man is anybody happy with dw Actually, I'm happy with my service, if I could just get them to make it stable. Here are a few hints, first off, get a buisness account, support is better (and us based) and speeds are higher, plus you have more of a chance of complaining. Second off, make sure your installer did his job, if he didn't call the company he works for or direcway and ask that somebody else come out. Thrid, make sure your credit card company knows you are unhappy, make sure to document all the times you called, what they said complete with support ticket numbers. JediofDarkness Posted October 14, 2005 CID Share Posted October 14, 2005 I'm happy with my dway as it's much faster now (around 950kb/s), but I hate the latency times. But there's nothing that can be done about that, since you can't exceed the speed of light to make the latency times lower.
ghostmaster Posted October 14, 2005 CID Share Posted October 14, 2005 Thats what I recommend, get off of the consumer and at least get on the Pro plan. U.S. support baby! And they actually seem to care.

Go for it and be the Ginnie Pig, and let us know. It is a shame that you want to throw you money away that you spent on the Satellite. They say Up To that speed, Not guaranteed. quote author=Bird Fan link=topic=8494.msg85556#msg85556 date=1128651162] Well when you're a 14 year old who gets paid $5.50 an hour, needs to buy a new screen for his laptop, and is saving up for a new computer, it's a lot of money. Bird Fan Posted October 16, 2005 CID Share Posted October 16, 2005 They say Up To that speed, Not guaranteed. Well, unfortunately I can't be the ginnie pig because I don't live in an area available for dsl. Throw away my money? Do you love sattelite or something? Anyone who has it would get rid of it in a heartbeat if dsl was available in their area, And for a lower price... I would be a lot more happier if we were getting the kind of speeds that we're getting now if we only paid $20 a month. Thats a lot of money To waste on your budget. Yes, but I'm wasting it on a good cause.
