DJVageli Posted November 12, 2004 CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 Hi, I just wanted to ask a question which i dont know if ull know the answer to but my family is planning on switching to Optimum Online from Earthlink and I will like to know what kind of package they offer because all they say on their site is 150x faster than dial up, but I will like to know it in speed not how faster it is? Anyone know about this, thanks
VanBuren Posted November 12, 2004 CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 Optimum Online offer 10 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload, dont know if they got any other packages but i dont think that. VanBuren
xs1 Posted November 12, 2004 CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 with optimum online, it doesnt matter which package you get, youll deffinatly be on a better connection. OO is one of the best ISP's avaliable for the price. A few people i know from new york ( brooklyn , queens and the stat. island) have OO , and their paying $40.00 for cable, and getting 10mb/s aka T1 speeds. I highly reccomend OO. DJVageli Posted November 12, 2004 Author CID Share Posted November 12, 2004 Wow those are pretty fast speeds, it is worth it for the price, thanks for the quick replies. I really needed help deciding if I should get it.
VanBuren Posted November 13, 2004 CID Share Posted November 13, 2004 and getting 10mb/s aka T1 speeds T-1 = 1.544Mbps so there is alot of ppl that has T-1 speed, atleast downstream.... http://home.cfl.rr.com/eaa/ConnectSpeed.htm VanBuren
ice Posted November 13, 2004 CID Share Posted November 13, 2004 Yeah, OOL is much faster than T1. T2 is around 6mb/s, isn't it? I am faster than T1 and T2, w00t. I pay 40 a month for 9mb/s, so I'm happy.
CA3LE Posted November 13, 2004 CID Share Posted November 13, 2004 Hi' date=' I just wanted to ask a question which i dont know if ull know the answer to but my family is planning on switching to Optimum Online from Earthlink and I will like to know what kind of package they offer because all they say on their site is 150x faster than dial up, but I will like to know it in speed not how faster it is? Cobra Posted November 13, 2004 CID Share Posted November 13, 2004 hmm i might wanna check to see if optonline comes near here. we pay 40 bucks a month for cox high speed 5mbps and testmy scores rule, but actually downloading isnt as good as it should be. lol CA3LE u should recommend to the higherups at cox to add extra email features cuz right now cox webmail sucks. (i know thats totally offtopic, but im too lazy to start a new thread, but not lazy enough to stop typing this increasingly pointless sentence )

Mr. Hahn Posted November 14, 2004 CID Share Posted November 14, 2004 If I ever found out that there was a 10/1 connection available in my area, I would jump out of my skin. That's pretty insane.
