boston617 Posted October 30, 2005 Author CID Share Posted October 30, 2005 Part of my problem might be my modem. Comcast couldn't get a response from it. I am looking into it.

knightshade43 Posted October 30, 2005 CID Share Posted October 30, 2005 Thought I would post my upload I pay for a 3meg down and 256 up and as long as I run netscape 8.0 or firefox I am a little faster than the average charter customer I just wish they offered a better upstream than 256 here is my upload :::.. Another thing I have noticed is the response time of there DNS servers they have 3 dns servers the primary one 68.115.xxx.xxx in my area is slower when I ping it 26ms, 28ms, 21ms,30ms due to usage I am pertty sure but the 2nd DNS 24.196.xxx.xxx is about the same as the primary and there third DNS 24.159.xxx.xxx is faster 19ms,17ms,17,ms 18ms so being I let my router obtain my IP auto I have always hard set my PCs connections I just use the least used DNS server #s (there 3rd one) as my primary my home network seems to all around run better and with the dns hard set on the PCs I believe it save a step for my router makeing my home network just a little happier

boston617 Posted November 11, 2005 Author CID Share Posted November 11, 2005 Ok, I used to like my speeds, now the bite the big one. I'v been having issues for three, maybe four days. My download this morning was 141Kbps, upload was 121Kbps. I already called comcast twice, they think it's a pole issue and will send a tech out on Sat. to check. So much for having good speeds.....
