MOTOROLA's SURF board Configuration Manager
dn0 replied to ROM-DOS's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
EDIT: After looking into it a little, the symbol rates appear to be the same between DOCSIS and EuroDOCSIS even though the European channel plan consists of wider channels. I wonder if the Moto diag page has a misprint in it; maybe should be 3.2Mhz wide channel, 2.56 Msym/second. Oh well, I must be bored...... -

dn0 replied to ROM-DOS's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
Yes, those levels look good. -10 to +10dBmv is the good range for a Docsis modem downstream. 50dBmv is on the high end, but still good for the upstream. I see it says 3.2 Msym/s symbol rate on the return. You must be located in Europe? -
That also says half duplex. Is that server querying therockscotts pc or something in between?

MOTOROLA's SURF board Configuration Manager
dn0 replied to ROM-DOS's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
Definitely bring that up, if your fluctuating from 41dBmv on up 59 dBmv on return power, then there is something going on. They will usually only fluctuate a couple dB with temperature swings outside, but not 18 dB. It could be anywhere, but you could check the obvious things like your connectors, make sure nothing is loose. -

nachos- Under that Moto configuration, under "Signal", what is your downsteam power level, and your upsteam power level? -
MOTOROLA's SURF board Configuration Manager
dn0 replied to ROM-DOS's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
Those values are just the center frequency of the downstream and upstream carriers that your isp is using. i.e. 555000000 = 555MHz (channel 79 standard) and 29000000 = 29 MHz (the upstream frequency) They are not the data rates or caps of any kind. -
How do I reset the Firefox settings back to the defaults?
dn0 replied to dn0's topic in General Discussion
Thanks, I think that's what I'll do. I'm sure it will be easier than trying to guess all of the default settings. BTW, great site you have here, lot's of great info and assistance. -
I had run a third party program a while back that changed dozens of settings in the Firefox configuration files, and I don't think it helped. Just curious if anyone here knows a quick way to reset it back to the defaults , without going through the config and guessing? Appreciate the help-

McAfee just auto-stole $36(and some odd cents) out of my checking account at 2:30AM Saturday morning for the renewal that I don't recall asking for. I'm sure it was in the micro fine print somewhere. There customer service is only open M-F. I was thinking of trying out AVG or someone similar before this came up, but now I am definitely calling McAfee Monday and cancelling. Not that it was a terrible av, but maybe to spite them a bit. I am going to look into the suggested av programs from here also.
