That might actually depend on type of scanner. I had one which would only work on up to 98 windows. I ended up giving it to someone who had that setup. There were no drivers for it to operate on XP. Hope that helped. It was a visioneer. Good scanner too.

OK, real close to what my kids use. They have my old T1220 e-machines. 256 w/ 20GB HD. Yeah doubling the ram was great. Not like newer models, but extremely faster. You will enjoy it.

The original C.D. is pretty simple to use. My own little ones could do it. Just call e-machines, they probably still sell them. Which model is it
