As pretty much shown by your U/L part of the speed test problem is your distance from Dallas Texas US. And most will say you cannot tweak a satelite connection. Do you look for updates for your modem, or do they do theirselves? If it is self hosted they say not. If you get the updates yourself, then maybe so.

Sorry, yeah MAC. Did you try those U/L mirrors? And try the 2 larger file tests, it did improve the speed. You were not getting it warmed up.
