There is nothing constant, agreeable, or the same. So what? We here at this forum just see if we can't help others find their highest speeds possible. Or to help fix problems. Other than that why do we need comparables anyway. Other to say I doubt we can help you any more than that. All satelite speeds are burst. They are bursty. Different things help different people. Some work best with TCP Optimizer, some cablenut. Some work best with IE6, IE7, Firefox, or something else. So what? Who really cares, except to argue. To proove, nothing. I really don't give a rats. I am here just having a little fun. Your not. Fine. I still don't care. Now what did you think any of us were supposed to agree upon? This is satelite. I think I said that much earlier.

That could be especially depending on where you are testing from also. Distance does make a difference also. Were you the one in the Phillipines?

Actually fikester I thought it was 700/128, until ghostmaster said it was the other way around. 1030 is my actual D/L speed, or 135. Other than that, my U/L is never the same. It always varies. Bird fan started a lot of crap about a year ago, so with many senior members on here I finally got it worked out to the speeds I just said[1030/?]. Although it did burst considerably for a while at the first of this year, and they still burst some in the early morning. Which D/L speeds did agree with on short D/L's under 3 megs. I guess it actually sounds like no one on hughes dway should be posting scores unless they can hit their real score. Which mine seldom does, and I would assume others seldom do either. Like I said satelite sucks. And all the testing again in the world will not change that. I see ghostmaster was already here.

Yeah, it is still running pretty good. Can't wait for something better to come along though.

Start*all programs*control panel*classic view*left click system icon*hardware tab*device manager*sound,video, and game controllers*(mine here was) ATI unified (my brand of card)*right click*properties*driver tab*uninstall*reboot Try that. It reinstalls and finds the driver on its own from there and reinstalls upon boot up.

You know beings it is christmas, I am going to ignore you right now birdfan. Hoping yours gets much much better. Actually I do most of my time after the kids go to bed. So that is the most important time for me. I usually am spending my peak time hours with the kids making them important. Seems a much better way to spend those dead hours. So in a way it works out fine for me. And much better than dial-up. At least till something better comes along.

Mine does the same thing. I have an e-machines desktop. I am used to it. And sometimes if it gets real bad I have to uninstall the sound controller and reboot. It lasts much longer that way. Windows media center 2005? But I always have to reboot. Cleaning the dust out helps a little also.

Yep, amazing what turning off a few programs will do. When I reformat I disconnect so much crap it is not funny. And then reload what I want. That takes more time time than the actual reformat.
