  1. Getting ready for winter? Must be nice, it is already in my yard. The kids have already drug in mud and snow which of course turns in to water. And van, it all becomes standard maintenance for running a satelite connection, eventually.
  2. What swimmer said. ^^^^^^^^^^^ I figured someone as big as your ISP should always have a back up. Be like running a department store without a generator. It would not even make sense. Or better yet how about a coldstorage place. OH. *hides back in the bushes*
  3. It's never their fault, but they are responsible for the router. No?
  4. Not sure why anybody would cover the holes back up with sealant. Logic would tell you to leave them open. And the hole at the top is to let air in. I remember when I first posted doing it someone told me I would have it full of bugs. Not yet. The holes are too small.
  5. Other than a translater, if you are bored. http://www.rock3.co.uk/translate.shtml OR http://babelfish.altavista.com/ Good luck.
  6. More of a friendly rivalry. They talk when it is done.
  7. Yeah, that is big. Probably the reason it is custom built, is if I were paying for that size, it would be the new front projection T.V. instead. Much cheaper and bigger. The home theater ones. http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/learningcenter/home/front_projection_TVs.html For $70,000 I could do it up right, sound system and all for under $20k.
  8. So what speeds did you have to start with Sammy_C ??
  9. On water in the feedhorn. I took a small sewing needle and poked one little hole at the top and one at the bottom. Enough to allow the water not to sit in it. I have had no troubles in over a year since. Be careful, just be gentle.
  10. All I can say is it better come with one Hell of a sound system. It better knock the neighbors beer out of his had clean across the lawn.
  11. Welcome to the forum g1nked and the best of luck to you.
  12. Welcome to the forum kiddo Wasn't it in the choices when you first started using it? Usually everything gives you a choice first thing. What would the software be?
  13. Is that like "I approve of this message" in the political ads. When I first saw this thread I thought "First Time For What Now Ryan?"
  14. Disconnected? I haven't had that happen yet. Post the speed test and we will see what we can do.
  15. What do you get when you test with this? Clear out your temp files before testing, it take you directly into the test. http://www.testmy.net/dl-2992 And post the results.
  16. Thanks fella's. I will use that.
  17. Have you restarted the modem lately. Or defragged the harddrive. Or ran the disk clean up? I would try those first. Also test with the 2992 file test instead of the smart test when posting speeds. It will be more accurate, and easier to tell what is going on. Also welcome to the forum jkubik
  18. Yeah it comes on my computer. I always shut it down when ever I reformat. So is it free for now also??
  19. Waaaah , it beats your old 4.0. Wish they would double my speeds. It would be worth satelite, almost.
  20. Guess CA3LE got it fixed. Almost right again. NICE!
  21. You mean the new speeds are causing chaos?
  22. So would this be similar to skype?
  23. You know when I first joined I asked about using one of those old dishes, and they said the speeds would not be as good as the smaller one. But that it wold pull through a storm better. What do you think grandpa. They aren't that hard to find really. Or expensive. And ice would be no problem. Satelite, not wireless of course.
