  1. Danged grandpa. Nice read. "The final result was a full 11 Mbps data transfer rate over a distance of 125 miles, a new world record for an unamplified wireless networking connection." Now that would work for me. That looks like an old sat dish they used to use. Now that would pull through a storm.
  2. This is cable, right?? You guys were doing so well.
  3. I'll see if I can get it wholesale. *pinches Sparticus's silly nose*
  4. Sounds like darned good reasons to me. Best wishes on the switch.
  5. Well toughguy5 to set the Optimizer just put your advertised speed in the dial. 4,000 is what you would set it at. And every couple of days set it a little bit different. Say like 500 per reset. Always reboot too. Remember it takes 2 or 3 days for a setting to settle in fully. But you should see the most increase quickly. You may want to take notes what you reset it at andthe speeds each time. And sometimes it actually helps to go under your advertised speeds on the dial.
  6. You know. I really do not know what running at 23,000 kbps would really be like. It really boggles the mind. One thing I do know, by being on satelite I do not have far to fall if things go wrong. I am not really that far ahead of dial-up.
  7. If that was not you saying that swimmer, I would swear they were just joshing saying that. Really? All of them. Now surely they paid their phone bill. And what about their website??
  8. In case anybody does not know Reso., that was an idle threat. Believe me. He could always go DSL first, if I remember right.
  9. Pretty much different strokes for different folks. So what do you really think going to DSL would gain over 3/256 cable, gotmilk ?? It might be 3.0 again. Or do you just think it would be more reliable in some way? Or maybe cheaper?
  10. So it would probably be best to ask what did you do to break it, and then what did you do to fix it??
  11. Well I can top all of those stories. Out here our cable is...that's the point. 000/000.
  12. You know I should so have your looney tune liscense taken away for posting that here.
  13. So where do you think we should start?? Should we include his new wife in on it ??
  14. But still not as much fun as teaching her a lesson.
  15. Isn't that a good thing?? At least a little bit. [i think CA3LE has it in with Insight to make sure you guys are always able to get on here.] Sounds worse than my ex-wife. "Not tonight honey, but I promise for tomorrow." (everynight)
  16. Sorta kinda? That blows his old satelite to the moon and back. That "IS" FIOS in the country.
  17. Nice speeds mikedallos, but then I think everybody is fast.
  18. You mean the one I borrowed from you. Shouldn't that be "Taiwan instead of Tiwan?? I think we should have a talk with CA3LE about it.
  19. Only if you are a good Master Plumber. My brother-in-law was a whizz. And you forgot politicians.
