  1. thanks man i'll read up more on it to see what my firewall can do for me. i'm sure it will stop most things cause it asks me about any program accessing the net and any program starting. kaspersky antivirus is also good at finding and stopping new viruses and spybot, adaware and spyware blaster should keep me clean with other crap. i hope
  2. mine is 256 QAM also so some of those are your isp blocking it C:Documents and SettingsEebobb>tracert testmy.net Tracing route to testmy.net [67.18.179.85] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 8 ms 9 ms 9 ms 10.50.192.1 2 10 ms 9 ms 9 ms dstswr1-vlan2.rh.lybrny.cv.net [167.206.33.33] 3 10 ms 9 ms 9 ms r3-ge9-2.mhe.hcvlny.cv.net [167.206.33.1] 4 9 ms 10 ms 10 ms r1-srp0-0.wan.hcvlny.cv.net [65.19.104.193] 5 11 ms 11 ms 10 ms r1-srp1-0.in.nycmny83.cv.net [65.19.96.53] 6 17 ms 15 ms 17 ms r1-pos1-0.in.asbnva16.cv.net [167.206.8.150] 7 * * * Request timed out. 8 17 ms 17 ms 17 ms so-4-0-0.mpr2.iad2.us.above.net [64.125.30.122] 9 16 ms 17 ms 17 ms so-0-0-0.mpr1.iad2.us.above.net [64.125.28.25] 10 29 ms 24 ms 17 ms so-4-0-0.mpr2.iad1.us.above.net [64.125.29.133] 11 18 ms 17 ms 17 ms so-6-0-0.cr2.dca2.us.above.net [64.125.27.210] 12 44 ms 45 ms 45 ms so-2-3-0.cr2.dfw2.us.above.net [64.125.29.13] 13 45 ms 45 ms 45 ms 216.200.6.237.theplanet.com [216.200.6.237] 14 45 ms 45 ms 45 ms vl31.dsr01.dllstx3.theplanet.com [70.85.127.29] 15 46 ms 46 ms 45 ms vl42.dsr02.dllstx4.theplanet.com [70.85.127.91] 16 44 ms 45 ms 45 ms gi1-0-1.car17.dllstx4.theplanet.com [67.18.116.6 9] 17 45 ms 45 ms 45 ms 85.67-18-179.reverse.theplanet.com [67.18.179.85 ] Trace complete. 3. i have sdsl, cable and adsl internet services. the sdsl is the most reliable and never goes down unless i shut it off and every test to almost every site i get the same speeds and pings. my adsl has great hops and pings are good too but not as stable as the sdsl. now the cable i have beats both of my sdsl and adsl for download combind which is 30 mb and the upload is 2 mb but it gets higher ping then the dsl and more hops but comes close at night time cause alot of people are offline. all 3 are great services and i have a hard time picking out the best 1 but they beat each other in different area's so there is no REAL better 1 cause that depends on where you live and what your concept of better means. here is my cable trace route to here. 4. i disagree cause i'm about 5600 feet from my C-O and have no problems at so you might live further than i do or have older lines but it can be just as fast if not faster than most cable isp's if your close enough. now if i was under 1500 feet i can get vdsl which offers over 25 mb download and 3 upload but it differs in some area's also. 5. didnt read much on this at all but what does this exploit do?
  6. un less you can find better just get it and return it if you dont like it and sopend a extra $50 to $75 for a name brand
  7. i think you only get those names on lan cause if you tracert an ip it would say it there. when i trace route in to myself with my other line i dont see the name but when i trace route out on the same line i do cause i'm on lan.
  8. actually you wrote it wrong (see the Kbps and kB/s ). 8573 kB/s which is over 60 mb when you ment to put 8573 Kbps. i'm not doing exact calculations but its around there so when you put Kbps thats kilobits and kB is kilobytes . bytes are bigger than bits so its a huge difference and i hope you understand that you mis-wrote it also take a look at my speeds in my sig to help you figure it out.. 23,182 Kbps is the same as 2830 kB/s now X3 would be 8490 kB/s and yours is still higer from what you said.
  9. alot of cable isp's have fiber optics and mine does also but its still shared.
  10. is there a way for anyone to try? lol i dont get charged for it so DO IT

  12. i looked at your results and no where near that if it was tru you would have about 80 mb but its not until you post a screenshot from speakeasy.net or get some legit scores on here. 03 Jan 2006 Download 4394 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net 2X7TWD9L0 03 Jan 2006 Download 4150 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net 3YG914RVU 03 Jan 2006 Upload 560 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net GADPOT6E0 03 Jan 2006 Download 4345 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net 59IYKQ83S 04 Jan 2006 Download 4333 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net 71TZD8ROA 04 Jan 2006 Download 4369 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net 2XH6YL3E5 04 Jan 2006 Download 5426 12160 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net SFJH2GPXE 04 Jan 2006 Download 5246 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net 5L26MKVUN 04 Jan 2006 Upload 731 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net W0A81Y96O 04 Jan 2006 Download 5281 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net R78K4TLME 04 Jan 2006 Download 5194 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net NMBQ3Z9AY 04 Jan 2006 Upload 718 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net INGBYD3QJ 04 Jan 2006 Download 5264 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net 86FBAY2N0 04 Jan 2006 Upload 720 2992 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net D62IJHB7A 04 Jan 2006 Download 5371 5983 kB 22202632671 terrybogard21 comcast.net MP7N9IXS6 Export to CSV
  13. it is on the same POP as seattle speakeasy speed test.
  14. ^^^ thats wrong cause your upload is under 300 kb so i know this is a cached test. what do you get at www.speakeasy.net/speedtest
  15. yes i have and i have to find out exactly what i'm allowed to do with this cause i dont want to put it there and then they call me again for over usage. they really hated that 512 mb file that everyone downloaded cause if 100 people download it thats 50 gigs and i know more than 100 people downloaded it. so when i see how much they wont bother me for i'll do it then it should be good since the biggest file on there would be 20 mb which is smaller than my largest file there now (64 mb).
  16. awesome keep doing it and tell other people to do it too. i want them to call again and i'll say what did you give it to me for :haha:
  17. they asked me to take off the 512 mb file so i did just to make them happy but i can imagine how much i transfered. its free for me so i raped that line bad. they are still gonna monitor it but with small files it wont hurt as much as that big 512 all being downloaded at the same time. he wouldnt tell me the how much it was but to make them call me :haha:. i bet they are gonna change the whole policy cause of me
  18. well the bad part is speakeasy called me about over usage and the funny thing is i had an idea they might say something but they called me today and i didnt pick up HAHA and they say i am using too much bandwidth and that must be my free ftp they gave me. i have 1 GB of space and they never said a limit. its included with the package so last month i posted it up here with some test files and alot of people downloaded off of it with all the posts people made had to be alot of gigs. i myself downloaded over 25 gigs just to see what it will do but i wonder what it really used. i'm gonna call and see what they say cause i have a feeling it was alot like maybe close to 100 gigs. here is the other thread http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=10693.0 My test ftp site http://www.speakeasy.org/~eebobb/
  19. a T1 usually has priority over regular dsl and cable lines while surfing the net and running servers cause they pay more for it and guarantee pings and packets. cable doesnt and pings are also higher in cable and no where near as stable as a T1.
  20. its cable and alot of the time you cant get it cause its shared a connection and you might have alot of people on your node also. did you try cablenut yet on this?
  21. this is the one i use
