yea they all have it cause dsl you pay for the raw speed and allowed to use it while cable is shared and is cheaper.

i spoke to 2 people that had speakeasy and thats it. i didnt ever see anyone else here with covad ethier.

i dont know what he did but he used bart pe. read up on it there ar i'll ask my friend what he did and i'm sure someone else will come in here that can help better.

download it onto that comp your on now and make a cd then it will. thats what my friend did.

mine was fixable so yours might be too. i have to ask my friend about that program bart pe cause thats what he used and was able to see what was wrong and fix it. that program let him into the files and i think it was another program that messed up.

mine was from something else not sp2 but i have sp2 installed so it has to be something similar. also dont leave it on overnight doing that. you need bart pe and you can probably fix it cause my friend did that to my other pc for me and fixed my blue screen. i'll find out how to use it and get back to you tomorrow sometime.

lol on that 1 cause its doing the same thing except 1 that it didnt go long enough yet. does it start if you leave it there for about 10 minutes rebooting cause mine did exactly that.

try just safe mode and see what happens

mine did the same thing when i tried to boot into safe mode. i forgot what mine was but as soon as i remember i will tell you. mine also rebooted for almost 10 minutes before it started. lol

damn man that happened to me but i forgot what i did to fix it. does it reboot a few times and then it starts up after a few minutes cause thats what mine did.

wow thats all you can get? what cablenut setting do you have? are you using the optimum online 1000/10000 file?

lol to this thread but the mods are right and they will see the transfers and your going faster than the business packages and they can see that and are probably monitoring it already. if i was an isp i wouldnt cut you off till i got you so watch it ya know.

well one day hook it up directly to the modem and allow testmy.net in all your firewalls and then test it out. doesnt look like you got the upgrade to 15/2 yet did you?

i'm not bashing it cause i also have cable but its true and the pings might be ok and they do jump around more than a stable dsl line especally during the day. dont get me wrong its good but not as stable as some other lines can be. also my fastest line by far is my cable and it has more upload and download than both my other lines combind but my other lines have way less hops and better pings and they stay like that all year round but the cable gets a little higher during the day.

if they are all close the pings can be low as hell cause your mostly running on there network so latency should be lower. my friend on the same service as me pings 6 ms when maxxing out my line so its definitly the network helping it out.

i get very close to my advertised speed but remember its not garenteed speed its up to that speed cause its cable and it is a shared connection. i get about 24,000 kb to here and 1,900 up and my speeds are in my sig. its the best around for me with the price and fios is around the corner so as soon as fios is here i will get it. what speeds do you get to here and to nyc speakeasy and i can help you tweak it out a bit more. also did you try cablenut and make sure you have no viruses, spyware and adware in your comp?

i must have a promotion then cause mine is $45 a month with boost which is 30 mb down and 2 up. the most down i hit here tho was about 24,000 kb and a bit over 1900 for up. my speeds are in my sig below and i get about 26,000 to 28,000 to speakeasy mets what cablenut setting you using? i think i might have sent you 1 but i'm not sure. i use the old optimum online settings with some settings changed for the higher speeds cause the old 1 was for 1/10 package.

not to mention hosting consistently will get you capped on most cable isp's which will also kill your hosting ability. cable's ping times arent good for hosting even if you have the speed the pings are worse than dsl and not stable unless its 3 am. lol
