I would assume the file you are downloading is allready compressed, so you have nothing to gain by using the accel. But you are still stuck with accel overhead.

I did use Vanburen's Cablenut settings - I have a Westell 327W that comes free with Verizon DSL - l looked into increasing the transmit power but did not find anything - I think I am going to have to run some CAT5 to two other desktops I have, as I live in an old house that is laid out in a way that makes wireless hard to do. I usually sit at the kitchen table with the router about 15ft away. Tony

Yes months ago I had to play around a lot to get better speeds - This site was a great help for sure! - I am happy to have gotten DSL about a year ago even though I live in a relatively remote area. Regards, Tony

I dont agree with the lucky to get 50 percent because wireless is that way - i get great speeds with or without wireless - no differance westell 327w verizon 3/768 I have read numerous posts on the forum about usb wireless being slow - I use one (Linksys wireless a/g USB network adapter) - again no noticeable differance
