well it should and if not just give it a differant name you can always delete the old name (read only) and then do a rename
-
on the save screen uncheck read only under options if you have problems with that simply save it under a differant name

"once you're on a 8Mb/s connection, it really don't matter no more ROFL." If you have an ancient system like I have - 300mhz - it matters - but like you said what differance does a few seconds make. -
Differant Browser Differant Speeds?
tonyswhirl replied to nhoughtaling's topic in General Discussion
I have found IE and Opera to be faster then FF on downloads. The absolute fastest is a little known browser called k-meleon I think CPU speed and memory is a factor and at any given time anyone can outdo the other. -
Dont agree that VZ is not pushing DSL - all I get in the mail and newspaper is ads for 768 dsl for 14.95 a month. Since I started out with 300 baud - I am quite happy with 3/768

Get yourself a cheap Volt Ohm Meter and learn how to use it - they are very cheap (less then 15 dollars for a cheap one) easy to learn to use and will save you loads of time in helping you solve problems like this. http://www.colomar.com/Shavano/vom.html They are very very handy

I am not worried about my Dell either - it is a 300mhz laptop and works great. When I really am feeling frogy I buckle up and use my 366mhz Dell laptop. Also if you purchased it more then 3 weeks ago - it is allready obsolete!! Ever hear of Moores law which states (and has held for the last 20 years) that processor doubles speed every 18 months. -
I thought a browser was for browsing the web with as much ease as possible - I can go to more sites easier and faster with FF then with IE - I can click on links and visit them later. I can do in 5 minutes what would take 30 in IE - I really do not care how it is thrown together as long as it is powerfull and easy to use. Who cares what a haphardly cobbled together woodshed project it is. It is light years ahead of IE, along with opera - k-meleon and just about everything out there. If IE ever gets better then FF I will back to it in a second -
-
Do you ever miss an oppurtunity to bash FF?? - the thread is about virus protection - and when you get right down FF make IE look like people who were striving for something less then even a poor product developed it. Give it a break!!!

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the server is not responding. If you entered a URL or path to play the file, verify that it is correct. If you clicked a link to play the file, the link may not be valid.

In the not too distant past - 4 or 5 years ago Opera was without a doubt the best browser and well worth the money (they got plenty of subscribers), now as you say each has there good points and bad points and with FF getting much more stable, Opera was forced to go free. It and FF still make IE look like it was done by people striving for something less then mediocity. I will not say idiots developed IE as that would be an insult to idiots, but that is how I feel!!

Make sure you got backup b4 running any cleaners
-
Opera has been free for about a month - no banner no ads - free
-
It is fast and has tabbed browsing and a nice look - give it a shot - its free and has been around for a long time - actually it and FF are about = I use it now and then just for a change
-
opera.com the best browser on the planet - and 2nd fastest - k-meleon is the fastest
-
Actually Opera is the fastest for me - and a browser called k-meleon is also faster then IE(UGH) or FF I think it depends on how quick your system is and what ad blockers and firewalls are running
