Actually, I've never added providers in that way. I've added forums for providers but if the detection fails... S.O.L. -- But I will be fixing the host detection issues very soon, I've had the fix on my radar for years now... it's actually pretty expensive to get consistently updated ip information. I've been detecting it on my own forever now... but as you've noticed it doesn't always work, some hosts sit behind unresolvable proxies and such... In the past, for about two weeks or so, I made/ran a system for allowing people to enter that on their own if detection fails. But I scrapped the idea, I don't like having to ask my users to do the tasks that the website should already do on it's own. I've just about finished the prerequisites on the site that will lead to the eventual release of this update. For anyone else waiting on this, sorry for the delay... soon... I just didn't want to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on an IP database subscription service before I was ready to implement it. (That kind of information doesn't come cheap.) Thank you for your patronage, - Damon

Try picking your test size manually.... let me know your results. When I get back to my console I'll see if an adjustment needs to be made to SmarTest

There currently isn't a way to do that. I'm out of town right now but as soon as I get back to my console I have that towards the top of my priority list. It's actually an easy fix I've just had bigger fish to fry until now. Look for this in the very near future. Thanks for the suggestion, things like this get pushed up on my priorities when more people ask for it... and this has been suggested a bunch of times, I obviously need to take care of it. - Damon

It's on pause at the moment. I have business in San Antonio all next week. Funny you brought this up because it's actually one of my top priority projects right now. I don't like to give release dates but I'm fairly certain that I'll have the graphing system at least in beta for the public by May or June. Thank you for your patronage. I appreciate your support. - Damon

Both graphing and timezone edit should be available within the next two months. ...I've removed our old graphing system for now. I feel that it didn't compliment the site anymore... but the new graphing options I'll be releasing will give you a wide range of options for how the information is displayed. Keep checking back, it undoubtedly will start in a alpha/beta format but it won't disappoint.

What do you mean by that?

Hey man, I'm sorry... you're the only one that's having that problem. When I merged your old .s1 with Xs1 the timestamps changed to the time I made the username change. I'll have to pull your old stats back out of a backup and re-import them to get the timestamp information back. ... Scared me for a second and made me think there was a major program error -- soon as a I get a free minute I'll get that fixed for ya buddy!

Times have changed 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 Today

If you've tried this already... try again, I've been working all day to refine the functionality of this new feature.
-
You can now input a number of days to average... last 1 day, last 3 days, last 3000 days. Whatever. This makes it more useful for tracking smaller sections of time. Or expanding out to see what you averaged or maxed over the last 365 days for instance. I've also added quick clipboard buttons to the rest of the sharing functions of the site. Makes things much easier.. CLIP CLIP CLIP. Enjoy!

I recommend that you use the default system browser. I've stopped providing support for opera because opera doesn't follow standards. Even on regular computers the results you get in opera can't be trusted. I have no idea why, every other browser works fine. I've tested the mobile site on... iPhone all generations default browser [*]iPad all generations default browser [*]iPod all generations default browser [*]Android 1st Motorola Droid on default browser & using various browsers (I still recommend using the default browser, removes a possible variable) It's really only meant for the most modern browsers... OperaMini isn't a rich enough browser. ... Why do you use that when you have Safari? Is there Google Chrome for iOS? I bet that would work beautifully. To any future readers of this, if you have an older device you can try old.testmy.net.

I'm already working on that. It's going to be a while for me to get all the pieces of that project together. ... It looks like this is going to be voted in. Maybe I should also figure out how to give users a rank. Included in your stats. e.g. "Your ranked #54 out of 74,480 members" --- it's actually allot more complicated to do than it seems. Because of the size of my database. I have allot more database optimization to do. I'm realizing that I have to completely restructure it to get this site to what I really want it to do. The original database structure has served it's purpose very well to this point. But when your database starts getting muti-million entries even with the proper indexes it can be hard to run certain complex queries. ... and I can't work on the database structure AT ALL on the server anymore, once I try to make a structure change it overloads the server. 8 Core Processing and it can't handel it. ..Sigh But I love this stuff

yeah... in terms of speed, not posts --- like this >> https://testmy.net/memberstats/?top=1 -- but reversed.

I got an interesting idea. I haven't left anything up to the community for a long time so I thought I would let you all decide. The results of this poll will determine whether or not it becomes part of the site. So your input is important to me. It would basically be exactly like the top 20 members list but reversed... bottom 20. I personally think it would be interesting to see... and in my experience that usually means other people would find it interesting. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks, I've been workin' hard. I really had to take a step back and rethink the design of the programming. It's not a simple task to run a site on this kind of scale. But the new stuff is coming together nicely and I'm making sure this time around to leave myself some breathing room in the programming for expansion and upgrades. ... I did away with the mirrors a long time ago, I wasn't comfortable with the system in place. I'm obsessed about accuracy and there was no way for me to guarantee the QoS with the old system... so I abruptly nixed it, I've actually rewritten about 98% of the old code over the past 9 months. Keep visiting, I have a few tricks up my sleeve and much more to come.

shadowpuck, I'd recommend first that you run the Scheduled Speed Test on a low interval, 30 minutes to 1 hour for instance. Let that run for a day or so and that will give us better data to work with. Many times it boils down to net congestion. Just because you tested elsewhere during the same time and got better results doesn't really mean anything. First, your route here will undoubtedly be different than another server, even in the same city... and second, because TestMy.net is far different than other tests out there. I have purposely made the tests here more resource intensive, so other problems with your computer could be to blame. But, running that scheduled test will help place the blame outside of your home. ... If we figure out that it's only happening during certain times you can then take that information to your ISP and hopefully they can figure out what the issue is.

Good to hear that you're no longer having a problem. Welcome to the site. I see that hewee has been a long time member. Thanks for recommending the site hewee! And Basil, I hope that you like it enough to pass it along as well

It's on the top members page https://testmy.net/memberstats/?top=1 ... Why didn't you see it? ... you are ranking with that new connection by the way

Damn... that upload is killer!
