  1. That was the first place I looked. No messages. No issues coming up. that's definitely a strong possibility, I edited the robots.txt on those servers to disallow. Just did the canonical header, great suggestion. expires header is set to nocache and even though I changed session.cache_limiter to public in php.ini it's still showing Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMT Maybe a setting in nginx I'm missing.
  2. Why do you say that?
  3. Some pages are there but many are not and most importantly the index isn't showing up.
  4. Hey ninjageek, glad to see you again... of course we remember you. Crazy, you've been a member here for almost 11 years! Personally I'm still big into my desktop and laptop. I feel handicapped on tablets and mobile devices. I'm not a big fan of the input right now, never have been a fan of touching the screen. Excited to see it in the early days (80's early 90's), I like how far it's come but I can't wait for a better way. As a society right now we're wasting too much of our time with the input between our minds and our devices. I imagine it will get better but for now a mouse, keyboard and monitor still connect me to my digital life in a way that a tablet can't. I imagine a future where people won't have to have their faces in their phones all day. It bugs me how impersonal people are becoming as a result of technology. You check out at a store and the clerk doesn't even make eye contact, it didn't used to be that way. You can tell who the tech addicts are in society. In the future I believe we'll get that back as people have less need to be burred because the input will be so much more seamless and fluid. You'll be able to express what you want to much quicker, without touching anything. For some this will dig them in deeper but I think for most it will be a freeing transition. I hear you on the gaming. The only gaming I've done in a couple years is playing NES Mario with my 5 yo daughter. -- Already not enough hours in the day and then on top of it the games I like to play are extremely violent FPS war games... my kids are always with me and I'd rather take them to the zoo or park to be honest. One day I'll play again.
  5. Keep in mind, you must be registered and signed in. This will most likely be open for all users in the next version.
  6. You get a great connection to some places, not other. Pretty common with all Gbps right now. Even commercial. Thanks
  7. Are you walking away from the computer? Maybe your computer is set to sleep or something. Change your power management settings to keep the computer on all the time. You can still sleep your drives and display. If you've already done that, try setting it to 5 minutes and have the screen focused at the time the next test is supposed to start. Let me know if it still fails to rerun.
  8. I hadn't seen or heard about this but I just updated the IP.Board core. Try it again and see if it's resolved.
  9. I don't understand how you have a public facing IP starting with 255. -- anyone have an idea what's going on here?
  10. Entering your IP into TestMy.net/iptools and MaxMind demo doesn't resolve to any provider, city, country. Keep in mind that doesn't affect your testing at TestMy.net. Your results just won't be compared like they used to. In the future I may provide an option to select the provider you want to compare against, so you'll be able to manually resolve in your case.
  11. You should be getting the same speed regardless of size. As Pgoodwin1 is saying, a longer test can be more revealing. In my opinion longer test duration gives a more accurate representation of your true average. It's the reason why TestMy.net gives you the option to run those longer tests. Cable connections are often designed to burst in the beginning of a download. TMN is designed to detect this and as long as you haven't told it otherwise it will automatically ramp up your connection with subsequent testing. Ending with a result that took at least 7 seconds... but if the test forwarded through a couple of sizes your connection would have probably run out of that burst by the time that final test runs. Last I saw you were on AT&T I don't know why it's showing a blank provider for you. Maybe it's because you're a MAsterTroll. Looking at your results it seems you average between 41 and 48 Mbps down on those smaller tests. You have some that are higher (65Mbps+) but you also have some much lower (19 Mbps). Then you seem to average down to about 40 Mbps with the 200 MB test. This pattern is consistent in all of your 200 MB results. https://testmy.net/db/OGAT8jlQd It starts out at that nice speed that you're used to seeing on smaller tests. But it then always trails off to about 30 Mbps. So I would bet if you went to download a very large file, you'll end up running at about 30 Mbps -- approximately 200 MB into the download... and you probably won't see any positive fluctuation in the speed after that point. In my opinion, that's a 30 Mbps connection. A 30 Mbps connection that feels like a 65 Mbps connection. Test it out. I just downloaded this Ubuntu ISO at over 20MB/s from Colorado Springs. (try other random mirrors) See what speed it settles into, let us know what you find.
  12. Me too that's sick!
  13. Nice, you rock!
  14. By the way, I haven't been able to duplicate the issue since the update. Please let me know how it looks on your end now.
  15. Good catch guys, I had noticed it a while back but thought it was a local issue. The clue that it only does this in firefox helped. I was able to quickly duplicate the issue and trace back to a fairly recent change, seems that must have been the reason I did it the way it was done originally. Corrections have been made to the source and propagated to all servers. Thank you for reporting this, please continue to keep me on my toes. Your input makes TestMy.net.
  16. Thank you Sean! This has been corrected and it now checks the availability of the server as it should. Was only affecting the UK selection when you specifically targeted UK by itself. Great catch!
  17. You're getting about 390 ms at TestMy.net so I'd expect better than what you're seeing to Carbonite
  18. You're always welcome here!
  19. Thank you for the feedback. I'll keep this in mind during the redesign and may offer options like we've had in the past where you'll be able to select your own theme and customize the design how you'd like. People used to really like that feature. There will be an advanced options in the next version which will be a perfect spot for this.
  20. Not at all. In case you didn't know yet, TestMy.net has an auto test built in. Members can test up to every 5 minutes automatically. It's only when people make their own scripts to run the test more often that it will trigger intervention. Like if you made a program that ran the test every 5 seconds, indefinitely... you're going to get banned because it violates TMN terms of use. Keep in mind, you're degrading your connection while the test is running... it's literally designed to suck up your bandwidth. So, personally I wouldn't want to run it too often... it defeats the purpose if it's run too often. That's coming from the guy wrote wrote the program and benefits from you using it. Once every 5 minutes for example should only be used for short periods to aid in troubleshooting. You wouldn't want to run that test constantly. There are other tools better suited for consistent monitoring... TestMy.net has a few in development right now that will monitor your connection health while only using bytes of data. Keep visiting. Don't worry about getting banned if you're using TMN normally in your browser as it's designed.
  21. Sorry I'm seeing this way after it was posted. You can do that but be careful that you aren't repeatedly hitting it... testing only seconds apart, over and over for instance is sure to trigger a blacklist. But if you're testing using normal intervals you're fine.
  22. Okay, so in your case you're not able to select an identifier. I'm wondering why all of these come up with the same CompID. If that's true, they should all have the same public IP. You can reverse query and get the CompID from the IP address using IP Tools. So do they all have the same IP or is it possible that you're only pulling stats on one of these connections?
  23. You can use identifiers. Next time, give each of the machines a different identifier. You'll see this option on the homepage or on the download, upload or auto speed test pages. You'll then be able to determine which is which in the results at a glance. (notice the little icon next to the "Dallas" star - can be moused over for more details) If you wanted to group together results from a bunch of different CompID's you can create a group and have the participants join the group before they test.
  24. Now that you have a username, since you signed up, your results will be saved under your username. https://testmy.net/quickstats/SalmanAhmed Users on ISPs who share IP's, frequently change user IPs or connect users through proxies can benefit from a quick registration like you just did. Thank you for the kind words. I hope this helps and hope you tell your friends.
