Your speed is shown in both ways. First in Mbps (or Kbps if you're under 1 Mbps), then in MB/s (or in kB/s if you're under 1 MB/s). Some people want to know their binary transfer speed and others want to know their speed in Mbps. Please read https://testmy.net/understand-bandwidth for more information. You can't make it display in Kbps or kB/s unless you're slow enough, you shouldn't want to... it's like telling people how tall you are in millimeters, you CAN do it... but it's not the right way, you should convert up. Just like I do here. Happy Testing!

True that. Pretty much every Disney character is rehashed from classic literature. Walt Disney was a master of stealing ideas and characters. Okay, okay, he took inspiration from them. Key word, took.

No problem, we're happy to show you around anytime. I think Kaa is a very cool nick btw. "Despite his polite, unhurried demeanor, animals seem to have a fearful respect for Kaa."

Click on "My Results" in the menu. If you aren't seeing what you expect you may have a filter turned on from a previous search. Clicking "Default" in that case usually helps. I see your results at https://testmy.net/quickstats/Kaa -- some tests on Sprint recently and a bunch on Charter. https://testmy.net/stats/?&t=u&d=06132016&x=30&l=500&q=Kaa If you ran some tests at work and weren't logged in then there's no way for me to connect your username to those results. Make sure that you're signed in when you're testing for the best logging. If you go back to work and run a test under your username then you can then go to your results and look under the "Computer ID"... follow the link from the result that you took while you were at work. That will show you all your previous results. -- your results are still saved in my databases unless you deleted them.

Could be that your connection is causing the test to fail. https://testmy.net/stats/?&t=u&d=06092016&x=90&l=50&q=Jtemple If you come back to your computer and the test has failed to progress it's usually an indication that your connection has dropped out. During the test your connection died, causing it to fail. The next version of the auto speed test will recover itself when this happens and log the event. If your seeing this often then it's probably a good idea to follow up and see why it's happening. To avoid it from affecting the tests as much you can lengthen the test time to over 1 hour. Makes it less likely to occur. If you're currently testing with a 5 minute interval and you're seeing that it's happening regularly, you can almost certainly ascertain that your connection is having frequent disconnects.

Did this just start happening? How long ago did this start? How often?

I haven't had any issues with tests completing myself and not too many errors in the logs. I found your errors in the logs, "Broken pipe:" with a referer of https://testmy.net/results -- I've been investigating intermittent issues with that for a while now. It used to happen on my iPhone then it stopped happening. I never got a definitive answer on the cause. Really hate when that happens. Every so often with programming something works correctly all of a sudden before you understand why it wasn't working before. Intermittent issues are my ultimate nightmare, especially when I can't physically reproduce the issue myself. So a few days ago when you were testing, there were no issues? Sorry if you have any issues posting in the forum. I don't think it's related but since the last IP.Board update a few days ago we've had some issues. I had a few posts that double posted because it appeared like it hadn't posted. They should release an update soon, if there are too many more issues related to that update it will be rolled back. After you respond back I'd like to work with you directly to troubleshoot the issue. If it's happening on a regular, predictable basis then your help is invaluable to me. Like I said, I can't produce the error myself. Something special about your setup, settings or something is causing it to be triggered. What the cause could be... I'd have to dig to find out. When I personally saw a similar issue it happened so infrequently it made it hard to catch. I can make your account do some special things that can help me track down the issue. I'll just need you on the other end to hit pages for me and try to reproduce the error. Thank you for your support!

...the dial-up bbs days never ended!
-
Should be resolved site wide, thanks for the heads up.
-
By the way, this was only added yesterday.
-
I remember making that mistake, lol. I thought I missed a spot in making the urls https compatible... must have been tired because I should have known better. Those are supposed to be static with http:// for sure. Thanks as always Sean!
-
Fixed... thank you!

Did you install any new programs recently that could be caching your webpages. You can't be that fast. Do you have another computer on the same connection or different browser you can try?

Hey udden, I have a speed test server in Stockholm Sweden for you now. Happy Testing!
-
Let's first compare apples to apples, do a multithread speed test. You may be able to achieve higher results that way. If you can clue me into a fast VPS host in Sweden, 1000 Mbps minimum uplink to the Internet... reasonably priced and including at least 1 TB of transfer. If I see a host in the area that I like I'll be happy to add a server in Sweden for you. That way you can compare apples to apples with the default single thread test as well. TMN's default single thread test is much more telling that a combined multithread effort. I bet you'll find that your bandwidth in SE and out of SE are two totally different things.

Sorry, I should have tested the link I posted. I copy and pasted the re-test link from the results and removed the file size but accidentally left a trailing slash so the I originally posted link was 404. -- Glad you were able to get it to work despite my bad linking.
-
When I look using the 'client time' function it shows that your timezone is GMT -5 -- which is correct for AL. Go to https://testmy.net/live and take a screenshot or copy and paste what time it shows on the recent results.

Sunset.se 32MB block test You can now test against .gz file type using TestMercury.net, a TestMy.net tool that allows you to create your own tests from hosted files on the internet. Hope this helps. To make the test above I simply pasted the URL into the Mercury Speed Test and hit "Add". Because of the large size the progress may take time to update, these tests run smoother with < 1MB... but can accept any file size. This will work with any file type actually. I've just disabled certain types because some files types could be compressed and cause false readings. If anyone would like any specific files types opened for testing, simple ask me. - D
-
Actually, it is possible... those types of files are just disabled. I'll need to get into it to remember why. Give me a little bit and I'll turn that into a test for you.

Sweet videos!

For my own reference >> https://invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/active-reports/avatar-circle-offset-r11366/

Hey Sean, thanks for the suggestions. I used those blocks of code to correct that style bug in IP.Board. Works perfectly. I had code in there to correct that same issue before, I thought it was resolved so I removed it... guess it resurfaced. I never notice on my own account because my avatar doesn't cover the edges of the circle. But logging into my test account just now I could see. I'll post up on Invision's bug tracker about this too. Thanks again! You rock!

Some automatic action must have rewritten http.conf on the main server. This has been corrected and should now work for you again. Let us know what you find.

Just a fluke, your speed never went that high. I'm working to figure out why that can happen under certain circumstance. You test immediately prior to that did not have the same burst. https://testmy.net/db/l_wb-fEcm Always look mostly at the overall speed (in this example 212.22 Mbps) -- the less accurate TiP result is calculated separately from the overall score.
