  1. Do you mean "Clean install"? You can do that by booting to the WindowsXP installer CD. From here, you can reformat the drive, and fresh install XP. And no, you cannot reformat the harddisk from Guest account. Even if you can logon to the adminstration account, you cannot reformat the harddisk either.
  2. Yeah... I have this one too. There's too many sharing in my IRQ... and some IRQs are not even being used. I tried manually setting these IRQs but I didn't see any noticable performance... so I just let XP manage since them.
  3. Maybe you're connected via WiFi across your neighbor ???
  4. I used to enable Wake-On-Lan before... But I rarely use it anymore so I put every setting to its default. Meaning I don't tweak it anymore.
  5. I agree, 64bit Windows XP is not worth it. Not only you'll need 64bit driver for your devices, you'll also need 64bit capable CPU (eg. AMD64, or Intel 64MT ??). Then I'll also need to run Warcraft 3 on that; and also my video/photo editing software which I think wouldn't run properly. This is where I think the next generation gaming console will come in. All in flavor of 64bit CPU sitting nicely on your bed. Not worrying if installing game on PC would ruin my editing software. Ah 360... where are you?
  6. I have the same NIC. I just leave the default settings coz I think they're already properly configured. Just change your OS MTU and RWIN or if you're using a router, change your router's MTU.
  7. Use Proxy Internet.... seach google for "free proxy" and then input the Proxy server in the Internet Option That's IT !!!
  8. I'm afraid, you need to buy a new harddisk. My laptop harddisk failed me before and I did everything to revived it. But it keeps on failing... so i just bought a new one and everything works fine. $60 for 30GB
  9. If it's keep on reverting to PIO, it may be already damage... or you have installed a damage Harddisk. Is it a SATA? try intalling a chipset driver !!!
  10. Pare... I'm using also PLDT DSL... you need to change the Modems MTU to maximize it... haha... Tawagan mo ko kung paano pabilisin ang pldt dsl mo... hehe...
  11. I use variable 135~215Kbps (WMA) for ripping audio CD.
  12. WAV is too big. That's what lossless is for (no lost at all) though it takes lot of resources to use. eg WMA, mp3 lossless... etc.
  13. I google the difference between +R and -R, i came to conclution that +R can attain faster speed and more reliable.
  14. You have to change the MTU of your Router/Modem !!!
  15. If both system support the +R or -R... choose the +R since it will last longer than the -R... that's the difference between them.
