us Brits are just hidding behind the "Bush " IMHO , and Tony Blair is now paying the price for kissng ass , but my feeling is the UK under Gordon Brown "the Scot " will not change it's resolve to carry on , just my view on this , trouble with the UN is it is very slow to respond to anything , again IMHO, but with 67,800 civilian deaths in WW2, we are slow in the UK ,tot get involved in wars again , but stangley enough most Brits are proud to be upholding the right to give freedom of choice to all nations, even if that means supportin the USA , Btw .I have just been reading a book on WW2, that uses just released UK Gov. figures , that indicates that , John Wayne , America , Winston Churchill , Britain, didn't win world war 2 the eventual winner would have been Russia , we only shortend it by 1 year , -
I have reloaded one of them puters with a split CPU usage history thingies (H.P.dual core ? ) it sure was blisteringly fast , yeah I want one , maybe next year thanks for the input :php, and guys ignore my expert title ( joke count only ) all I have learnt is from TMN , and other sites, and with no formal training , but through TMN forum , I am now assistant to the IT manager at work , yeah, I get to screw back the spacers that come off with the plug

OK here is mine , a screen shot of my Task Manager, My box is a Athlon 2.5 barton ( i think ) with 1 Gb ram , I built it 3.1/2 years back nothing special , and now fast becoming out of date , but still does the job that I want it to do , email , a bit of light Photo stuff , and TMN forum so no immediate update for me , my ADSL. B.B is at it's max of 2Mbps, and my bandwith usage is around 1.5 Gb per month and with prices for components in the UK are about 2x the USA price it's staying for a while longer , O/S is Xp Pro , any comments on commit charge ? and Kernel memory ? would be wellcome , as would any comments , apart from "build a new computer "

and I thought they were watching your guys backs ? I love the quote "pushed into " nothing much has changed on that, in my day it was called shoved , joking aside , yes it is good to see NATO pulling together on this one , that is a morale deflater for the Taliban , they get to think the whole civilized world is against them , This I think was the big mistake we made in Iraq , we jumped in too soon, IMHO. Still no turning back now , that would be seen as defeat of our countries , and western civilization in general , again just my thoughts on this sorry mess , a view I have be told, is also held by the British army , as a soldier recently said we can take the body count , but to walk away now is just takintg the piss out of those who have been killed , -
OK , we go with Shug' favorite Manoeuvre "from behind " :lol:I worry for that lad at times ,

: Tdawnaz , , ..........I was only kiding Honey , I can live with "tushie pop " *I must try it on at work tomorrow* if I get a black eye the blame is all yours
-
........... ..........I just tried a google on tushie pop , Madam, I think HONEY would have been nicer , maybe I am a bit touchy over the term POP, , when I was 16 years old my dad still kept refering to me as" the Boy ", so I took to calling him" POP" , we had a grand fight over that , he never called me Boy again , funny thing memory , I can't remember who I did last week , but that fight I will never forget ,

My old time favorite is M.E. , laugh not , never had problems with it , and I still have a computer with Win 3.1 on, somewhere in the back of the garage , all 66MHz and 16Mb of ram ( my first upgrade, up from 8Mb to 16Mb of ram , ) aaarh, them were the days ,............. not , recently I got to run a laptop with 2000 on it , and was impressed with that o/s it ran much better than the Xp Pro I had to put on , but it was an old laptop 750 MHz , I guess it comes down to horses for courses , Xp does all I need , never had a problem with it , and I love the A.S.Recovery on Xp Pro , no doubt I will get Vista one day , but not on this box , 2.7MHz AMD Barton + 1 GB ram my next build maybe , 13/7 for not upgrading , well I guess not that big a suprize , the tech guys don't buy new computers from the super store ,Maybe ? , and Mr. Gates hasn't sold the idea to us, no doubt we will laugh at this topic in another 5 years , I can remember my reluctance to move off Win M.E. , ( not till 2003 )

only minor injuries from what I have heard , but damage estimated at about $10 million, we just ain't used to quakes in the UK , so it is a big drama over here, our 1 motorway (freeway ?)to Kent, is now gridlocked with opportunist builders vans , so I have heard

Thanks for putting me straight there Tdawnaz, I was getting a bit confused , last month I had a French maid looking after me , this month a nurse , I know your advice was well meant , but the same old problem reoccurred , "Residents have been evacuated from their homes and one woman was injured after an earth tremor hit Kent earlier today. The tremor - measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale - struck just after 8.15am and people across the county reported that the ground and their properties shook and there was damage to some buildings. " http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article1719003.ece well I guess the Earth moved , again

ninjageek, I guess yours was a NO vote then ? I think the same was said about Xp when it came out , personally I can't be bothered to upgrade my computer to run Vista in all it's full glory , Why swap Xp pro for Vista home edition ? as Vista home is around $290 USD in the UK , no doubt I will end up with Vista oneday but not in the foreseeable future , well not until Vista Sp 2 is out , I allways think of the old saying , "fools rush in where angels fear to tread " same for me with new cars , I just patiently wait till all the recalls have been done with
