Did not even know that it was doing updates until I restarted for an update on another program, then window poped up.

Thanks for the help, All Went to bed and left it.....when I got up is was done. Auto Update is now OFF though.

Just powered up comp after 2 weeks, restarted system and it went to windows update and has been on update 4 of 11 for over 2 hours. Screen says not to unplug or power down computer. How long should I wait? Thanks in advance Grambler

Built new machine and bought Vista 64 to get full use of new hardware. Still have XP on second hard drive though. Vista taking some getting used to, not going to buy another OS any time soon just because MS say its newer and better

Went through the same thing recently running Trend Micro Internet security, virus got past it then it disabled the av program. Now running AVG Free and COMODO Firewall Pro - Free

Why Core 2, and not Quad core?

The Graphics card(s) seem to be what I am having the most problem with.

OK guys, her is an update. got a response from Trend Micro and this program works from a jump drive. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe I can now run my Anti virus program and to safe mode. I still do not have Internet access though. I have tried reloading drivers, but no good.

can not get online to do scan. AV program on laptop picked up trojan infection when I plugged jump drive back in from infected computer. Picked up this virus Trojan-PSW.win32.nilage.bvl Have not found anything to clean it out yet

ubcd did no good. when i try safe mode system just reboots part way through loading

not sure how I got this thing either. system is running trend micro security 2008 with latest updates.

you guys ever tried or heard of anything called ubcd?

I could use a USB key or a cd either one would work, I just need a way to ru a scan program.

This thing wont let me get to safe mode either.

My main comp has a virus and it will not load its anti virus program or connect to the internet. How do I go about loading an anti virus program to the jump drive?

Does anyone know of an antivirus program that I can run from a jump drive? Thanks
