I would recomend uninstalling all drivers associated with the old motherboard. Also copy drivers from cd for new motherboard to a directory on the hard drive in case you can not access the cd drive.

Been on VOIP almost 3 years and would never go back. On VONAGE for 2 years, took 6 months for them to release phone number to new carrier Been with Charter VOIP for almost a year no problems. Like the Charter VOIP better because it does not use internet bandwidth.

Modem should be Coaxial in and CAT5 out, is it not?

I agree with SHUG d/l a copy from the internet and use the serial that came with the laptop. You have a legal license so it should not be a problem.
