i was having the same problem. i was averiging 2500-3000 download (i have the 6Mb plan). just went to buy a new modem (motorola sb5120) speeds are back to normal

where do i go to have computer the same IP (dont want it to change ip everytime i need to reset modem or router)?

i dont know which mod chip is best. my friend just asked me if i wanted nintedo, super nintento, etc. (over 1000 old school games) saved in my xbox, told him sure while not. told me other things the mod chip can do. he installed the chip and a 120gig hard drive for. all he charged me for was $50 for the chip and installation of the chip and hard drive. so far i have about 25+ New XBOX games save (just rent from blockbuster and save them to the xbox) :D best thing i like about the chip is EVERYTHING, mostly media center

Yep new modem fixed the problem. i still like my linksys modem. i guess i'll keep it just in case the motorola goes out oh another thing while talking to Comcast to register the new modem, i asked if there are any new upgrades coming up? he said yes within around 3 months but doesnt know exactly what speeds it's gonna be. he said to call blah blah blah (i forgot)
