Hey guys, there is a laptop called the Acer Aspire AS5739G-6132. i have only found newegg and a youtube video (which was pretty stupid) over this laptop. can anyone find some other links? so far i've been about 10 pages deep into google with every link on every page so far. nothing worth looking into. and been to tons of sites, none of which have any value for what i want. which is basically a review of sorts. or something other than someone listing the specs or saying "this sucks" or "this rules get it" . lol im just trying to get the most information possible without buying the thing. its for a coworker who just had their motherboard take a dump on their desktop and decided instead of fixing the desktop they want this laptop. i not too worried about links to other laptops just trying to find as much info as possible to this one. thanks in advance

in all honesty i'll have to look it up because i havent had to use a backup file for so long.

yeah i got norton ghost 8 or whatever the program is. i cant remember exactly at the moment, but i make backups on a external drive and on dvd's never again am i going to have to reformat completely and lose everything because i feel like a know it all and crash the system playing around with it.

never noticed...good point. it would be interesting if we can post some links and see some info on those drives.

thanks, yeah when i built my current computer i had every part picked out to be the best of the best in every way, gaming, video, photos, etc. now...when i look it up i might as well buy me more parts and build a new pc with the cost. i just have no time for it right now

thats what i was thinking mudman, but i dont want to get too convinced over anything before its in my hands doing what i want lol. honestly i have used a hipro power supply before, it only cost about 30 bucks and it worked for 2 years so far and its still going strong with about 20 hour a day usage. :grin2: i just dont want to get ripped off or have anyone thinking i ripped them off lol.

motherboard is actually nice, i have one in my current pc its a budget one but works great. and the psu is a hipro 500watt....its cheap yes but hey if its worked for them it'll work for me....i have an extra 650watt anyways. im more or less looking for the overall thanks for your input

i found a pc in a shop nearby that a buddy of mine works at, specs are as follows amd athlon 64x2 5600+ 2.8ghz 2gb ram geforce 7950gt 512mb 120gb harddrive sata 3bb/s dvd reader drive and a dvd writer drive biostar motherboard...i think the model is tforce 550 500watt power supply fresh install of xp pro with service pack 3...comes with cd and everything, all driver disks and all. they want 975 for it...is this a fair deal? or what would be a fair deal for this? i dont want to get ripped off. lol

it sounds like from what you said it was already out. but im not so sure its the motherboard. if it was the motherboard i dont think it would boot up or load or anything. perhaps its a memory error, or could be your graphics. i would do more checking before jumping to anything.

yeah, being that it is a laptop it will take some cash. it can be done though.

i cant seem to find it, but im out of time for tonight because there is a huge thunderstorm right now where i live and my net keeps cutting out. but somewhere on this site is a thread that SHUG started....its about him challenging the members here to crack a .rar file. im sure there might be some useful info in it. i'll check later on today and get back with u ( its 2am here)
