even tho its a tim taylor thing...honestly do you really need it? you can always save that money and get like 3 or 4 gigs..... or if its burning a hole in your pocket spend the extra on the card..... but yeah, thats what i want to do...wait till the 9600 comes out and wait for a price drop and get the 8800GT

im thinking that your Power supply didnt have auto switching and when you plugged it in wrong you maybe damaged the cpu....but as voltageman said does it beep/turn fans on/make any sounds/what happens exactly....

I think that your hardware is outdated....upgrade you're CPU....celeron 1.7ghz..i have that in my old dell..slow as hell. graphics card, yes update..thats an integrated card isnt it? DEF. upgrade even if it isnt. thats such an old one. maybe ram...like 512mb more would be nice. and the harddrive is fine... edit/ thinking about it. that whole system is OUT dated...just try to scrounge up enough $$ for a new one. ...maybe i missed it, but what brand is your comp? HP? Dell?

but what settings did you change in about:config? thats what we really need to know

IE slows down everything for me...FF makes everything super fast...i get 3.5mbps download when im supposed to get 3

what exactly did you do to tweak firefox? that would help out alot if you posted more detail

ew lol i dont even have IE 7 on my pc. im on IE 6...thats how little i use it.

there is an old Poll thread on this, maybe looking into that would help also. but yeah, i use FF only...and if i have to IE..but FF is my default.
