  2. I just dished out more money than i ever thought i would, but i think it will be money well spent. Got the new apple notebook with the intel chip. I ordered the $2,499 model. http://store.apple.com/ The MacBookPro
  3. Thanks there are some decent notebooks that i'm considering, and some of them have what i wanted, and is even under the price range i set. I really liked this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834115327
  4. This would also prove support will last longer than Jan, 1 2007. http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?C2=1173 So that would indeed put the end of "Mainstream Support" in 2008 since WinXP Home Service Pack 3 (SP3), which is the last version of Home is expected to come out in the first or second quarter of 2006. That will apparently be the end of Support as Home will not be the recipient of "Extended Support" as WinXP Pro will receive. WinXP Pro's lifecycle comment says: "Mainstream support will end two years after the next version of this product is released. Extended support will end five years after mainstream support ends.
  5. From what i've read, and seen on many forums people believe security support/updates for WinXP home will end Jan, 1 2007, but if you go here, and read carefully from what i see this just isn't true. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/lifecycle/servicepacks.mspx IMPORTANT: The immediately preceding service pack is supported for either 12 or 24 months after the current service pack releases, depending upon the specific service pack. For more information, visit http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh%3Ben-us%3Blifecycle&LN=EN-US&x=20&y=10. SP3 for Windows XP Home Edition is currently planned for 2H 2007. This date is preliminary.
  6. Well here is a list of popular mesage boards you can use: http://www.simplemachines.org/ http://www.phpbb.com/ http://www.invisionpower.com/ip.dynamic/products/board/index.html Those are just a few you can use phpbb and simple machines are free. I believe invision power board is pay. Just pick a forum, and intergrate it into you site layout. testmy.net uses simple machines forum as do i. (IMO) simple machines is the best free forum. Make sure you have php support, and a mysql or some type of sql database setup for your forum as almost all major forums use sql to store, and save data/user forum info. I believe there are a few forums that actually use a flat based txt file ect for storing data, but i would stay away from that. If you have anymore questions ect just ask.
  7. Thanks for the link indeed some nice notebooks there. There are a few i'm looking at there. Again thanks.
  8. I am looking for a new notebook for home, and travel use. I already use my Inspiron 6000 for work. I posted some specs of a dell notebook here a few days ago, but decided against it. So i am still currently looking for the right notebook. I don't really use my notebooks for gaming or video editing so the best graphics card is not really needed. I would mainly just use it to manage my dedicated boxes via Putty, web surfing, and moderate music, and movie watching. Whatever it is i finally get i will set it up as a dual boot for windows XP, and Debian Linux. If anyone has some good deals or links on notebooks they want to share please do. I am trying to keep it at or around $1,000 dollars. Things it must have are: Internal wireless b/g support 512 megs/ram atleast 60 GB HD minimum 15 inch screen WinXP Pro DVD+RW drive 8x atleast The graphics card can be intergrated, but should have atleast 64 MB capacity. Not needing anything really fancy when i play games it's usually on a console anyway.
  9. Thanks for the info i checked the site out, and looks good. Now i know where to browse next time, but i couldn't use my Dell Gift Card there.
  10. Yes i did get them from dell, and yeah i know it's alot of cash, but when it comes to laptop batteries i am willing to pay for the security of knowing they are 100% top notch batteries that will not flunk out after a few months. The 12 cell battery for the inspiron 1100 was $213.00 after tax can't remember the exact price of the one for the 6000 i'll have to check. The good news is i used a $300 dollar dell gift card on them i got for xmas so i didn't really dish out that much.
  11. When it comes to ebay, and laptop batteries sure you can probably get them cheaper, but what kinda shape are they really in (Life Span Wise) atleast this way i have a 12 month warranty on them, and i know they are healthy batteries.
  12. Well i had to have 12 cell batteries (longer life), and only a few places sell the 12 cell most places sell the 4, and 6 cell. Anywhere that has the 12 cell that's about the going rate not much to bargin on there.
  13. I just purchased a few extra laptop batteries for my laptops i have, and the price of laptop batteries is still out of this world about $450 bucks for 2 12 cell laptop batteries. One battery for an Inspiron 6000 notebook, and one for the Inspirion 1100 notebook. 2 batteries cost as much as a low end desktop pc.

  15. You can get the dell basic laptop loaded with 1 GB of memory, 8x CD/DVD burner, 15.4 inch screen, 80 GIG HD, and Windows XP Professional for $927.69. That's the price with shipping & handling, and TAX. That's not bad at all. That price also includes the Dell internal wireless b/g card. You might be able to get it cheaper you just have to configure what you want, but for what i wanted that's the final price i got.
  16. I'm sure as hell not going to run out, and buy Vista. I will eventually purchase it, but many months later after it's been hacked a few hundred times, and M$ has worked out the millions of bugs sure to be discovered once put into the hands of masses. I think the system requirements will fall as well that's just to high of requirments for an OS, and if they were to be that high it would raise the price of computers because pc makers would have to double the specs of the basic pc's they sale now just to run the new M$ OS. For those who have forgotten most people are not rich the majority of people live paycheck to paycheck, and won't even bother with this crap product (I mean wonderful M$ OS) if prices, and pc requirements to run the damn thing are this high. I already use linux more than windows anyway so if M$ wants to do stupid junk like this i'll write them off for good i think many people might.

  18. I know the Scorpions are the true authors of this song, but this band is an insult to what was a great band.
  19. Also how does someone lace a building the size of WTC 7 with explosives in one day? That takes 2 or 3 days, and that's also rushing things usually takes a week or more to do it right. One day is impossible. That building was laced with explosives before 911 only way it's possible.
  20. Although i have clearly stated in early posts that i don't believe all of it which you seem to have ignored in your blind rage of defending our lovely government. (LOL) My opinion is that our government did have some sort of roll in 911, and it most 99.9% likely to be financial, and that's my true opinion has been for years now. The WTC disaster looked like controlled DEMO to me, and i've been around someone who has done controlled demo for 30 years. My uncle is a site manager or foreman for a demo company.
  21. As i said before you're entitled to your opinion, and if you truly trust most elected officals that's going to be on your head in the end. Uploaded this for people to view also found it intresting http://webgeekshosting.com/L-SecretEvilOf911.wmv
  22. I'd like to say this before someone calls me Anti-American or something. I love America, and what it's suppose to stand for, and i don't think i'd want to live anywhere else besides the USA (except maybe Sweden - Love that swedish bikini team), but i don't, and won't stand behind or support crooked politicians. It's up to the American people to do what's right in the end. It is our country isn't it? We pay the politcians to run this country correctly, and not the way they think is correct, but the way we know is correct.
  23. I never said i was going to i said if one would. If you doubt me take the test.
  24. Do a study of American history i don't mean pick up some lame college book, but do a real study of american history, and you will see the government has done nothing, but lie to the American people. Also history shows governments have done MUCH worse things to it's people for financial gain. What makes you think the crooks who run this government are any different? Does the US government really care about you? If you think the answer is yes keep on thinking it, but i refuse to live in that dream world.
  25. This lie detector story is the smallest of our troubles. The government already monitors us via internet, phone, satellite, and many more ways we are not aware of. If you don't believe me give it a test pick up the phone call someone, and tell them you are going to KILL BUSH. Watch and see how long it takes for someone to show up on your doorstep you might be surprized. Better yet email a few friends, and say they same thing i bet you someone other than the intened recipient sees it also. I'm not saying they are watching or listening to every little thing we do, but they have certain things flaged for listening. Just give my little test a try sometime i lay money someone either calls or visits you soon enough.
