With my debian setup i can use webmin or plesk as a GUI, and i have sshd enabled which is what i use for control primarly. I have 34 ips on my debian box, but have sshd blocked on all ips but 1. I found with all the ssh brute force attacks going on as of late on the net that having sshd enabled on as few ips as possible is a good thing. Also limit the users allowed to login under ssh for more security

i've been using debian since it was first released, and i'd have to say debian is by far my favorite linux distro right now, and it will meet or exceed all of the above you want to accomplish. I'd say grab debian, and enjoy. the apt system in debian makes updating, and installing new software/programs a breeze you can even upgrade to a whole new debian distro via apt system. I already ordered the MacBookPro, but i believe i will be very pleased with it, but i think anyone in the market for a new PC laptop should wait a few more months because there is about to be alot of changes to PC's in general with the release of Vista expected mid this year. Alot of PC vendors are trying to push old product off the shelf for the new right now.

From what i've seen only people who get good satellite internet speeds are government angencies. If you are an average joe american don't hold your breath on a good satellite internet connection. If you are the CIA, FBI, IRS, or some other government agency then you will be happy with the speeds. I can almost promise you any federal agency DirecWay provides for gets steller speeds.

My newest desktop is a gateway, and i've had nothing, but great success with it. It runs like a champ.

Last night i can't remember what time it was, but testmy.net was down about 20 or so minutes. I also visit other websites hosted off of ThePlanet's network, and they were all also down, and even today it seems testmy.net, and those other websites are running a bit sluggish. Anyone know if ThePlanet has issued any connectivity notices/issues or anything?

I also read that i believe if memory serves me right each child will get 10 million, or they will get 10 million between the lot of them either way i remember the 10 million mark being thrown around.

600 million is alot of ca$h, but for someone like bill gates it's not even a penny in a childs piggy bank, and most of it probably will be a tax write off. If he wants to give some money away he can send a few million my way, and i won't even mind if he uses it as a tax write off.

I think it is the same chassis, i was thinking the same thing myself. The 9300 series is still (IMO) one of the best notebooks they sale right now. The only notebook better i think is the HIGH END XPS notebook. The XPS M140 is not a great notebook (IMO) they don't give an option to get a better graphics card with it you get stuck with Intergrated crap. Atleast you can get a ati 256mb card with the higher end XPS.

I have an old 400 MHZ machine i play with sometimes it only has 128 megs of ram, and runs Win 2000, and i think for just email, and web surfing it does just fine.

They had to have put this up on the website in the past 18 to 24 hours. I don't even remember seeing it up early last night.
