How Many Millions of pixels can your computer draw per sec?
organ_shifter replied to Blako's topic in General Discussion
Wow, that's amazing. Those G400 cards keep on going. Great score. -
Ok, I figured it out. The theme Apollo was, for whatever reason, stopping attachments from showing up in posts (at least on my system). I switched to every other theme and they all worked perfectly. I'm now using the theme titled "Classic YaBB SE Theme". Every is cool now.

I don't even get that. I have to download every pic in order to see it.

DOCSIS 2.0 can achieve speeds far greater than that right now, but many regions that cable networks service are still operating at DOCSIS (1.0 - 1.1). Certain areas are 2.0 certified, but only a handful compared to the large numbers that aren't. Adelphia @ (16000/2000) & Cox @ (15000/2000) have already proven that cable can hold it's own very well on a DOCSIS 2.0 infrastructure. Comcast is planning to skip a full DOCSIS 2.0 upgrade and move directly to DOCSIS 3.0. They claim to be striving to give their customers 200Mbps down.

Looks like IE6 is sweeping the results. No surprise there.

I don't have FF installed, but here are my IE6 results. 1.453 1.343

I go to all different kinds, but I selected Speedway because I suppose I go there the most. It's this hottie that I flirt with alot there, and that's why I fill up at Speedway.

Read reply #7. That's how I removed it.
-
I had mine set to 100. Still didn't help. Torrent speeds were bad. I was lucky to get 30kB/s on a well seeded file. After removal, I got 600kB/s plus (well seeded of course).

During the installing of the patch, it gives you the option to add whatever number you want. The patch's default connection number is 50.

I clicked the box that says "Show Updates" and "Windows XP Service Pack 2" showed up in the list. I selected it and clicked remove. I didn't perform a system restore afterwards. My system ran fine. Mabey you shouldn't attempt it. I have completely destroyed file systems and performed several fresh installs in a single day before. When I sense anything to be wrong with my system, I wipe it out ASAP. You may have important data that's not backed up, so removing sp2 might not be in your best interest.
-
Nah, service pack 2 is what limits how many connections you can have. Removing the patch won't do any good. The patch is designed to give you more connections.

I haven't had it installed in so log that I can't remember the exact name. I think it had sp2 in the name. Try here: How to remove Windows XP Service Pack 2 from your computer Use the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel 1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Click to select the Show Updates check box. 3. Click Windows XP Service Pack 2, and then click Remove. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen to remove Windows XP SP2. 5. Perform a system restore to return the system to a point before Windows XP SP2 was installed. Note See "Use the System Restore process" in this section. 6. Click Start, click Run, type sfc /scannow, and then click OK. This will return the file system to the order that it had before you installed Windows XP SP2. Use the System Restore process 1. Click Start, click Run, type %SystemRoot%System32restorerstrui.exe in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Click Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next. 3. Click the date that you installed Windows XP SP2, and then click Installed Window XP Service Pack 2 in the Restore Point box. 4. Click Next, and then follow the instructions on the screen to remove Windows XP SP2.

When I had SP2, I applied the patch and it didn't help me at all. My browsing was great as well as speed test results, but my bittorrent speeds suffered terribly. I uninstalled it through add/remove and bittorrent speeds went wild. Service Pack 2 is not required as of yet, and I still have every update offered without it. I don't need the extra features that it offers, especially the security increase. I really believe that it's geared towards novice users that can't protect themselves and clicks on every link/add that they assume to be safe.

Test were run a little while ago. ATI took the record at the time. When Crossfire gets here, I think ATI will be hard to beat. Test results: [url=http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=5670.0]ATI Technologies Claims World

I thought I read that somewhere. Thxz netmasta. Hey Svahad, even if you purchase additional ip addresses, Comcast will still charge you as having a new package being that you will be using a seperate cable modem. Entering a new mac address/serial number into their database for a completely different modem will be giving you the same speed on two different lines. Comcast will, in turn, charge you double. The purpose of purchasing additional ip addresses seems to be geared towards the use of a router/hub. The connection will be shared. For example, when using a router, the cat5 cable that normally runs from your cable modem into your NIC will be connected into the 1 x 10/100Mbps WAN Port on the router. In turn, the 4 x 10/100Mbps LAN Ports will become active for connection. Of course, you will run the first option to your PC. The second, third, and fourth option can be for whatever else you want to connect to the internet. Sometimes, there's a catch. Depending on the router you have (some are more advanced than others), your ISP won't allow you to have multiple connections going at the same time. Some people have to literally unplug the cable that runs to the PC in order for another device to gain access to the internet. Purchasing multiple ip addresses fixes that. Anytime you connect to a different ethernet port (eg. using a different NIC on you pc, or connecting to a game console's ethernet port), a different ip address will be issued. On the router, having the PC connected through it will be using your 1 dynamically assigned IP address. Connecting another device at the same time will cause a conflict and it will not establish a connection without kicking the other device off first. Additional ip addresses will be required.

If you are on the 4000/384 plan, your speeds are great. If not...read this: Before you post your problems read this!

Right before this happened, all attachments would show up full size for me. I didn't have to click on them to see the actual size. I prefer to have attachments show up as little thumbnails as opposed to the entire pic showing up. Like in the "Show off you desktop" thread. Every pic, no matter the resolution, would show up in it's entirety. You would have to side scroll to see the full pic. I didn't like that too much. I can't even see thumbnails though.
-
I don't know what the problem is. Little stuff like this really bugs the heck out of me. It's been like this for two days, but was fine before that.
-
I can't see your attachment either...darn.
-
Is it just me, or is anyone else having problems seeing attachments? I can see the paperclip and the link to download it, but I can't see the pictures anymore. Here's a pic of what I see for every attachment that's a picture (including my own). EDIT: I tried to download this attachment just now and it didn't download this time. It just opened the picture in another window. EDIT2: Nevermind, I clicked to download it, but I cancelled it instead. That left the picture in my cache or something because, after clearing it out, I was able to download again. Still can't see pics on the boards.

Yeah, I read about a few issues, but it's scheduled for a September release. Gonna be pretty hard to beat when it gets here.
