If you were to mirror the drives you would get only the smallest drives capacity times the number of drives. So that would be a waste. Also I dont think you can mirror SATA and IDE on the same raid controller? He could raid the 120s and then use the 8 gig as a like a swap space and that would be fast!

If your connection is WPA you need to make sure that either you have SP2 running or you download the patch that allows the wifi client to use WPA as the encryption scheme. Also make sure that you have the chip set and wifi drivers installed like php mentioned. The other thing that I would try is pinging the router/modem.. if you can see it then I am sure that you will be able to ping it. If none of this works. Try reseting the router back to is orginal config and start all over..

Yeah this isnt one of the linux based devices.. so you can really do all that much with them.. I would hold on to it! You never know what you might need it for.

Alright here is what I found.. the Linksys 4port VPN router RV042 will do what you are looking for.. You can create a dual link rule where you define your connections... Then define the main connection.. so that would be the fast download/slow upload. Then create a rule where if the upload speed is 30-90% of the declaired speed that you set it would transfer the data to the second link. All the partition is going to do is create a new virtual disk.. There shouldn't be any performance issues is you partition.. As long as you are not trying to write and read at the same time on the same disk..

Not a huge deal.. it happens often that companies have to come out and look at equipment.. it is good that the ISP could see it from their end.. you were correct.. packet loss was what they were seeing.. or pings over a certain number.. At which point they disbatch a tech to come and take a look.. As far as the wifi.. geek squad should be able to get it working.. Just make sure that they do! I have seen some cases in around my house where they are there for alike a week straight just trying to get that stuff to work. I am not sure if MS is going to release an upgrade to vista for xp.. There are just so many changes in the file system, the way things are now organized, visual, and others that it would make sense to me to only release full versions. I have yet to hear anything on this topic but I will let you know if I do.
