  1. tigerdirect is pretty expensive compaired to newegg and zipzoomfly.. due to shipping rates and tax.. But other than that they do carry alot of stuff! that is where I got my z-2200s
  2. online driving.. that sounds fun!!
  3. yeah i guess.. but what ever.. The wiring looks good to me.. you wont find anything better in any commercial vendor out there..
  4. haha.. i wouldnt know.. but yeah.. Was there for the snow storm of like 95-96 i think it was the "blizzard of the century" it was really peaceful out there.. a lot different than suburbia of chicago.. but West Lafayette IN is pretty easy going not much rush to do anything.. if you know what I mean
  5. I lived in connecticut for a short period of time.. 18months to be exact.. In Ridgefield.. the Dan burry area.. Where are you at?
  6. STAY AWAY FROM GATEWAY.. there are rumors that they will not make it though next year.. they are losing money big time! I would either go dell or build..
  7. there was a problem with the latest drivers.. update them again... that should take care of it.. if that doesnt work try the omega drivers site.. omegadrivers.net they offer a 3rd party driver that tends to be high in quality that what ATI offers.. more geared towards gaming..
  8. lol ok.. I am from chicago.. if that helps..
  9. if yours is so great lets see it...
  10. ever piece of software has security holes.. I think that what we were talking about was the fact that in less than 12 hours an entire new build of ff was available after a possible hole was found..
  11. I am a thunderbird person.. just personal preference i guess..
  12. well here is the deal... when you go on wireless you are going to lose some speed due to the technology.. if you want to maintain the 5mb connection I would strongly recommend a 802.11 G series router.. You if you are surfing all at one time you will see a speed drop but that is like any other technology... I would recommend that you place the router near the fast computer and use ethernet to connected to the router.. that way you have one computer on ethernet and that computer will have the fast connection... Other than that it is just a matter of signal strength and tweeking you wireless connection..
  13. I have done this once.. i normally use Partition magic.. here is some good info.. http://www.computing.net/howto/advanced/ When I did this it scared the crap out of me.. it is basic and you can really mess something up!
  14. not a basketball fan.. but the 3 point shootout was pretty good this year.. What ever team Koby isnt on... So that would be the one that Shaq is.... O well.. Sorry about my lack on knowledge.. Just doesnt interest me.. now college basketball.. that stuff is fun as hell to watch.. Make sure that you watch every Purdue Game.. we are really good at losing but the best part is that the coach goes crazy on the bench.. He is always on the jumbo tron swearing..
  15. that is pretty sweet..
  16. If you want to get techinical.. Steve Ballmer is CEO and he makes all of the "tough" calls nowadays.. billy is just Chairman of the Board and Chief Software Architect what ever the hell that means..
  17. you might have to reformat in the dos command prompt.. with fdisk... which is a pain.. 300mhz would not be recommended for windows xp.. unless you have like 256mb of ram in the laptop.. the you will be running the os from the disk cache.. Which is no fun! Windows 2000 might run faster once it is loaded.. it was really never intended to be shut down.. It was made to be stable one it was up and running.. there for it takes for ever to boot which is ok.. I still personally think that 2000 pro is more stable than xp.. and it might even be more secure.. Stank Ho..You tried.. you cant get everyone right on the first try!
  18. Nice advice Scank Ho! Yeah I had something very simular happen to my old compaq Amd k6-2 500MHz.. A call to compaq and that didnt fix the problem so out to CDW to get windows 2000 pro full version!! It does sound like you are going to have to reformat.. There is just no way of getting around it.. unless you can boot into safe mode but that sounds like it is out of the question..
  19. that is good to know!! I might check out 8 when it is in final..
  20. I would go 64bit... beginning next year 64bit games will begin to appear with the release of Windows xp 64 edition.. 5900 is a nice graphics card!! but you are going to want the option to go PCIe in the future.. Well good luck! IF you find something let me know! I would love to see what you come up with!
  21. Welcome to the forum! I tried Opera 6 i believe and I hated it.. I might give this new one a try.. Didnt they just anounce this when MS said that IE 7 was coming out...? Back then there were ads on the browser itself.. on huge turn off!
