I doubt much.. cause it is a test.. most of the time it is either the same price or cheaper than what is available in that location. That way they get people to test the system.

Alright here is the deal.. All of the sempron 2800+ socket 754 processors run at 1600mhz.. The offical name is Sempron 2800+ that doesnt mean that they will run at 2.8ghz. It is actually possible for, at least in AMDs case, to get a faster processor with a slower frequency. Just about everything from the 2200+ to the 2800+ on either socket A or 754 has run on at 1600mhz at some point.

So you have done a system restore? I am going to guess that you have some type of virus.. I would try booting into safe mode, using f8 most of the time before the windows loading screen pops up, and see if you can get it to work there..

I have never had any problems with media.. You might want to take them back and explain the situtation.. The dye could be bad or the disks could just be a bad batch..

I found it on a huge list of bandwidth test... I liked the graphics but it yelded a "slower" result.. It turns out that it was accurate, I was on dialup Joined and started helping.. been here ever since.

That is up to you if you want to go referb.. yeah it should work with your mobo..

Yeah i would recommend SATA over IDE any day! but if you are going to be doing word processing.. waste of money.. Games would yes load faster because most of them are loading large files into memory and doing a lot of seeking.

First off.. welcome to the forum! My guess is that the drivers are so old on the LAN card, the card that the physical cable plug into also called a NIC, and that is why you are getting really slow speeds. You might want to look into adjusting some of the properties of the NIC so that you can get better speeds on the WIRED connection. Normally you should be able to get full speed on all of the wired connections. My guess is that you can also get a faster wireless speed. Again it involves changing some setting of the wireless card. Normally you should get between 85-95% of the wired speeds. So you should be looking between 1300-1400kbps on the wireless network. I get about 80% of my wired speed on my wireless network. My wired speed is about 20000kbps. I normally get about 160000kbps or 80% of the wired speed. Correct, there would be two ways to connect computer in your situtation. Wireless, using a wireless card, and wired, using a NIC. If you are going to be on wired there should be no difference in the speed from one computer to another as long as the cable is less than 100meters. If it is over 100meters then you are going to have some signal loss and the risk of collisions is greater. If you are seeing a difference check to make sure that the drivers are up todate and you might want to tweak the connection.

I dont know how much difference you are going to physically see in load times.. but if you are moving alot of big files then yes.. you will see a difference.

I dont have it right now.. if I get it.. I would replace my Dell I8600 which is my main pc here on campus. It goes with me on the road, class, gaming, just about everything. I am planning to hold off until I get my first job because the graphics are not all that great in the Lenovo laptops.. they are professional laptops so they dont come with ATI or Nvidia chips.

Yeah it look a little wierd.. The first time I saw him do it I thought he was going to break his laptop. The next laptop I am going to buy is going to be a lenovo Z-series unless they offer the titanium skin on the T-series.. just looks sooooo good. BTW i am looking at the Z series right now and you can get a 1.73 centrino and 512mb of ram for $1500
