  5. From what I have read.. if you add an extra drive you are going to have to reinstall.. Here are some things to think about.. Raid 0 no back up! one drive fails everything goes. So unless you have server class hard drives I wouldnt even try it on a consumer drive. The drive would most likely die with in a year or two. due to the extra writing and strain. Raid 1 would be better in my opinion you are going to get fast read speeds.. which is what you would be doing more anyways.. and you would not have to worry about a drive craping out on you.
  6. Is it fine just plugged into the computer?

  17. I have a Suse 9.1 pro server running right now w/ samba, ftp, http, bf2, and VoIP server.. I found that Suse is nice because you can still ssh into the box but if you get really stuck you can still have a GUI to fall back on..

  19. The graphics card is going to be fine.. I can play bf2 at 1024x768 2xaa and either high or medium setting with no problem.. The 9700 is more than enough power..
  20. It isnt your fault.. the lag is in the Comcast network in PA.. They are aware of the problem.. Just keep track to make sure that they eventually go down.. You might want to call and see if they can get you some free internet time.. I believe that the max ping on the network is 100ms.. so you might be in luck there..
  21. I would look around.. $50 for that just doesnt seem right..
  22. Are you sure you broke the card and it wasnt because part of the card was overheating due to the new fan? I dont know how you secured the new heat sink to the card but if you dont have even contact there are going to be hot spots on the card that could lead to what you are discribing..
  23. Damn dude.. for about $50 bucks a month you could have like 6000/380 cable connection.. If you can I would try and get out of your contract if you have one and switch providers.. BTW welcome to the forum phin!
  24. yeah.. but still.. gateway isnt what it use to be we all know that.. They still make decent products..
  25. Yeah.. There are numbers floating around.. We have all seen something in that area.. my guess is that it is going to be minimal because Gates had to work to get where he is today.. BTW Welcome to the Fourm rovr138!
