  1. Do you have any speakers, motors or florescent lights near the monitor? If so try moving them. Also try plugging the monitor into an outlet away from the computer. E.g.: a less used outlet. Also, have you checked the cable that connects the monitor to the computer? Make sure it's tightly connected and has no bent pins.
  2. There are a few topics about this already. From what I know. You'd need special software to "bond" two connections. Even then, you would still have two seperate IP addresses. So when you go to load a webpage, part of the page loads from one connection while the rest loads thorugh the other. In theroy that could make your connection seem faster. But large files, a speed test for example, would only load from one IP address since it's only one file, there for, you would be downloading large files as fast as one IP could get them. To explain a little more: Say you have two 5Mb connections. You bond them together. You go to Testmy.net. Some of the site, the images load from one 5Mb connection. The rest of the page loads from the other 5Mb connection. It's faster than one 5Mb connection, because the files are coming from two routes. Now you download a 10Mb file. Since it's only one 10Mb file, the file can not be split between the two IP address. So the file downloads at a max speed of 5Mb.
  3. Speaking of the DS, I'm not up to date on the handhelds. What's the difference between DS and GBA? I've heard they're not in competition with each other. Edit: Or am I wrong?
  4. If no changes were made to your account, e.g.: changing from standard to gold or getting rid of/subscribing to TV , then the upgrade is free. 4Mb/384kb = 6Mb/384kb 6Mb/768Kb = 8Mb/768Kb

Before reformatting, try reinstalling your nic. Uninstall it from the device manager, then reboot the computer, and Windows should detect the 'new' hardware.

  12. [ur=http://www.webopedia.com]Webopedia.com hacker Last modified: Monday, August 25, 2003 A slang term for a computer enthusiast, i.e., a person who enjoys learning programming languages and computer systems and can often be considered an expert on the subject(s). Among professional programmers, depending on how it used, the term can be either complimentary or derogatory, although it is developing an increasingly derogatory connotation. The pejorative sense of hacker is becoming more prominent largely because the popular press has coopted the term to refer to individuals who gain unauthorized access to computer systems for the purpose of stealing and corrupting data. Hackers, themselves, maintain that the proper term for such individuals is cracker.
  13. That tracert is horrible. It looks like it's a problem on the rouse to the site somewhere. It could be your ISP. Are you having trouble accessing other sites besides testmy.net
  14. Yup, it does exist. The nice thing, it's easier to understand too. What raptors892004 said too.
  15. Compaired to Win9x XP is much better. I hardly have problems with XP either. I've had hardly any BSOD's using XP.
  16. Those are advertising tracking cookies. When you go to a website some advertiser put a cookie on your computer to track your browsing habits. The cookies being classified ad adware has nothing to do with the privacy or Firefox itself, except for the fact that you're accepting those cookies. FF is not spying on you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Webopedia.com cookie Last modified: Monday, November 03, 2003 A message given to a Web browser by a Web server. The browser stores the message in a text file. The message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. Also see session cookie and persistent cookie. The main purpose of cookies is to identify users and possibly prepare customized Web pages for them. When you enter a Web site using cookies, you may be asked to fill out a form providing such information as your name and interests. This information is packaged into a cookie and sent to your Web browser which stores it for later use. The next time you go to the same Web site, your browser will send the cookie to the Web server. The server can use this information to present you with custom Web pages. So, for example, instead of seeing just a generic welcome page you might see a welcome page with your name on it. The name cookie derives from UNIX objects called magic cookies. These are tokens that are attached to a user or program and change depending on the areas entered by the user or program.
  17. Send a PM to Ca3le. He'll let you know what steps you need to take.
  18. You got 9 right! Excellent, you have the makings of a proper propeller head. The VGA question tripped me up. No one uses standard VGA anymore.
  19. That depends. Do you know what your advertised speeds are?
  20. Yahoo debuts beta of Instant Search Published: September 15, 2005, 10:12 AM PDT By Dinesh C. Sharma Special to CNET News.com TrackBack Print E-mail TalkBack Yahoo on Thursday unveiled a beta version of a search tool that pops up results before a user is finished typing. Instant Search Instant Search is now available at Yahoo's Web site. While a word is being typed into its search box, it checks if a single, relevant answer is available. Common results are displayed just below the search box, in the form of a "speech bubble." For example, typing in "bos" pops up a link to current conditions at Boston's Logan Airport (which has a BOS code). "Boston" pops up a link to Boston.com, while "Boston weather" produces a forecast in a bubble. If the bubble's contents contain the right result, a user does not need to hit the "Search the Web" button or the Enter key, or scroll through pages of results to find the right one on which to click. The new offering uses AJAX Web technology, which reduces the need for Web clients to reconnect to a Web server every time information is downloaded. Yahoo's Instant Search tool is under development, so more features are likely to be added in the near future, Yahoo said. The competition among search companies such as Google, MSN and Yahoo is heating up, and all of them are engaged in adding new features and tools to their offerings. Source: News.com Yahoo!
