  1. You should also check your CPU and memory usage when you are trying to brows and use P2P at the same time. Press Ctrl+Alt+del to brin up the task manager and then click on the thrird tab "preformance". Most P2P programs I have used take up all the memory and CPU time I have.
  2. I think we need a better hug icon though. :haha:
  3. I have Comcast too, and I'm getting 100% of my 4Mb. Anyway, when they installed it (back in '98) they put a splitter, 3 connections from where the cable comes inside. They put amplifiers on just the 2 TV connections and ran a new line for the cable modem. I've had no problems with that setup. I'm not sure what kind of amps they use, but the modem won't work on those two lines.( which is ok)
  4. I'll donate some time, but I don't have a job right now.
  5. I doubt it's spyware. It looks like a problem on the route on his end.
  6. Also T1 has 1.5 Upload which is good for a small server. Although I bet T1 will be basically history in the next few years.

  11. That is a good upload (and download too, of course). What are your advertised speeds?
  12. I don't know what Bellsouth speeds are, but Comcast speeds are 4Mb/384Kb for around $42.00/mo or 6Mb/768Kb for $10 more a month. Also with cable you don't have to be close to the co to get good speeds.
  13. It was deleted later that day because I only got 0Kb because the server didn't respond.

  18. Here is how it works. You subscribe to a broadband ISP (e.g.:Comcast, Verizon, etc.) then for another $14.95/mo you get AOL's BYOA (Bring Your Own Access). Basically what it allows you to do is use AOL's "Features (e.g.: AOL, e-mail, message boards and the AOL software) over broadband. It's a waste of money IMO. But if you absolutely can't live without AOL and high speeds, than go ahead and buy it.
  19. You should only powercycle your modem if you are having connection or speed problems.
  20. You're number 3329. Just hover your mouse over your user name and look at the link in the status bar (https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=3329)
