  1. here's an article that might be of help to you [url=http://searchnetworking.techtarget.com/expert/KnowledgebaseAnswer/0,289625,sid7_gci970300,00.html
  2. i have an idea how to open the sendfar page, it is very similar to opening a canopy using the mac address. i would like to verify from you since you have a sendfar, is the arp method applicable? or you have to get the mac address right there in the antenna?
  3. the following are three things we request you to do or answer: 1. post a screenshot of your task manager processes. 2. post a screenshot of your control panel add or remove programs. 3. are you using a firewall? 4. are you on a router? 5. what are the splitter/extentions for aside from using those for extension phones?
  4. probably, your canopy sm does not have a roaming capability which means that you are locked to color code 82. that is why when you attempt to transfer to other color codes, either you get no connectivity or limited connectivity. when you are able to roam, you can easily transfer from one color code to another. unfortunately, only the higher smartbro tech support can change that status. we'll try to find some other ways to help you improve your connection. please post a screenshot of your AP Evaluation page.
  5. they don't have to. www.testmy.net is the most accurate so far.
  6. here it is ian, check this out ---> http://www.testmy.net/t-24357
  7. the smartbro customer service rep said your speed was slow because there were a lot of users, that is true. in the canopy evaluation page there's a provision that says SectorUserCount. It shows how many users are online at the same access point / base station that you are homed. take a look at the example, the SectorUserCount is in red. ********************************************* Index: 0 Frequency: 5735.00 MHz ESN: 0a-00-3e-xx-xx-xx Other (RC: 1 CC: 0) Jitter: 1 RSSI: 1495 Power Level: -59 Beacon Count: 17 BRcvW: 1 FECEn: 0 Type: Multipoint Avail: 1 Age: 0 Lockout: 0 RegFail 0 Range: 2842 feet TxBER: 1 EBcast: 1 Session Count: 1 NoLUIDS: 0 OutOfRange: 0 AuthFail: 0 EncryptFail: 0 Rescan Req: 0 FrameNumber: 177 SectorID: 1 Color Code: 31 BeaconVersion: 1 SectorUserCount: 1 NumULHalfSlots: 18 NumDLHalfSlots: 55 NumULContSlots: 3 *********************************************
  8. you mean the LAN setting? or the Canopy configuration setting? in effect, did your reformatting Windows improve your Smartbro speed?
  9. i agree. there are flash drives with small programs, icons, folders pre-installed. reformatting deletes 'em
  10. go for sendfar. don't mind the configuration page, what is important is the improvement in speed. try this. might help improve your connection even more --> http://www.testmy.net/t-24357
  11. that's awful. here's what you need --> http://www.testmy.net/t-24357
  12. have you tried this? http://www.testmy.net/t-24357
  13. paying Php 998 for a stable PLDT MyDSL 600-800 kbps connection is better than a stupid P999 for a crappy unstable 384 Smartbro
  14. good suggestion. this I recommend: http://www.testmy.net/t-24357
  15. you gotta check with your ISP, its possible that they are capping it to accomodate more subscribers. luckily you are aware of this, unlucky those who dont know even what a canopy webpage is or how to access it.
  16. how many months have you been subscribed? from what I know, there is a new canopy lite that has a 512 kbps aggregate. this means that even if you increase the sustained data rates, each will always go back to 256 kbps or less. kindly check in the QoS
  17. congratulations! now you are closer to the advertised speed. did you follow the Coolbuster's FOURmula? http://www.testmy.net/t-24357
  18. i think its through telnet. one way to block remote access to the canopy is changing the password of the "root" and "admin" account. just change the password, do not delete the account. if you're unsure whether or not you violate isp rules and guidelines, do not alter your canopy settings. otherwise you will end up terminated from the service.
  19. this FOURmula is better. speed is consistent, lag is reduced.
  20. most possible this is where the problem is. will it be ok for you to reformat again? after the reformat do not install any other anti virus or anti spyware program, just AVG. do not install cablenut, do this procedure instead - http://www.testmy.net/t-24357 after that, post a speed test.
