  1. i can see the big smile in your face. good you had a vacation. were you able to know the ISPs there? and happen to hear some internet stuff or issues?
  2. you still got the vacation hangover don't you? i know you enjoyed it so much coz you forgot to visit the forum and opted to post in our local language when you came back. what places did you go? here is how to start a new topic: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?board=135.0 click the link and at the bottom of the page you will find the New Topic button. back!
  3. welcome to TMN. there are several factors you should consider on figuring out what's causing your slow connection speed. 1. malwares (virus & spywares) 2. firewall 3. programs running on startup 4. no tcpip patch (win xp sp 2-3) 5. the limit reservable bandwidth is disabled try to work on them. we appreciate your updating us.
  4. you got back your speed Gat. what's nice about ubuntu is that you will need anti-malware and firewall no more, right? so filtering is not an issue.
  5. loud & clear momma t here's the matrix showing results of my speed tests: http://www.testmy.net/tools/database/db_search.php?type=user&q=coolbuster the ISP 99.74 is my regular smartbro until april 15, 2008 while 18.241 is the 3G thingy right thereafter. and oh lately the attached image is what i get during regular smartbro tests
  6. have you noticed password viewer.exe or pc-off.bat in your computer lately? they might be the culprits.
  7. you are absolutely correct momma t. i refrained from speed testing thru my regular smartbro connection because everytime i do it, tmn resets. i don't know why its happening. my smartbro speed goes a zoom zoom zoom yet tmn fails to give me a test result. instead i opted to do speed tests thru my smart 3G phone and there's the result as afore-posted. can you see the difference?
  8. right after you powered the canopy up, you can unplug the override plug
  9. well... i decided not to ask for a rebate
  10. wooo... that's harse what if you do the other way around? befriend them. who knows they might share to you some secrets
  11. a range (approximate distance) of 5733 is far. your jitter of 6 is not even ideal (1-4) for a wireless connection, there's too much noise against a low RSSI (400). the culprit is your distance. i bet you can't clearly see the base station from the rooftop, can you? here's mine: Current entry index: 0 ********************************************* Index: 0 Frequency: 5735.00 MHz ESN: 0a-00-xx-xx-xx-xx Jitter: 2 RSSI: 1413 Power Level: -52 Beacon Count: 6 BRcvW: 1 FECEn: 0 Type: Multipoint Avail: 1 Age: 0 Lockout: 0 RegFail 0 Range: 2793 feet TxBER: 1 EBcast: 1 Session Count: 1 NoLUIDS: 0 OutOfRange: 0 AuthFail: 0 EncryptFail: 0 Rescan Req: 0 FrameNumber: 42 SectorID: 1 Color Code: 31 BeaconVersion: 1 SectorUserCount: 1 NumULHalfSlots: 18 NumDLHalfSlots: 55 NumULContSlots: 3
  12. please be informed that i did & tested the tweaks in XP and not in Vista. my apology but it will be a long time before i will upgrade to Vista and do some tweaks for smartbro users on Vista (whispering) unless someone donates a cpu with Vista on it for tweaking purposes. (jk)
  13. i have a friend who has an internet cafe like yours, with 8 units. what he did was to get 2 smartbro subscriptions. 4 units are connected to one smartbro thru a hub, same as the other 4. users can play WOW, RanOnline, RoseOnline, WarRock and FreeStyle altogether without lag.
  14. please don't get me wrong. what i posted was "two canopy sm-two subscriptions-under one account" which means one account holder (1 subscriber) can avail and pay 2 subscriptions (or more i think as long as he can afford it). my neighbor friend has this kind of setup for his small internet shop.
  15. i have attached a very effective program to address that issue. it's named Remove Restrictions Tool (RRT). A tool to re-enable Ctrl+Alt+Del, Folder Options and Registry tools. Check it out!
  16. a two canopy sm-two subscriptions-under one account scheme is possible and legal. apart from this? it's the other way around.
  17. Just asking, may i know the difference between the two? Lately, I have noticed that member to member and mod to mod personal chats are all over the place. On the title is a topic really different from what is being discussed. Am I still in the right place? No offense meant, just asking.
  18. what you did was right. but it's not also wrong to follow what the canopy team emailed me.
