  2. no, it does not. if you like to use a lan card other than the built-in, i recommend two: D-Link PCI Card and SiS Lan Card
  3. ok. so i got it. the first time you had your speed test wherein you got an awful result was because of the following: 1. base station downtime 2. there was excessive use of bandwidth during the test. there are 78 users sharing 1 AP which is color code 241 - this is where you are connected. the weird but nice to look at test results you are getting now are surges. they are inconsistent and does not show your real speed. but as i said, they are nice to look at.
  4. login to your canopy sm via 169.254.1.1 go to Tools/AP Evaluation and print screen.
  5. Enzone26. we welcome you to testmy.net Inasmuch as we would like to help you troubleshoot your internet connection problems, forum rules dictate that you must post in ENGLISH ONLY so other nationalities will be able to understand - TMN requires you to do so. regarding your query: the problem now is...your canopy sm does not allow you to roam. meaning, you have been locked on in your current AP. 'tis unusual since most of smartbro users can easily change color codes as long as we are able to access the module. just go back to your original color code (access point) in the canopy page. i hope other guys here who had a similar experience can share their thoughts and how they were able to solve it.
  6. so nice to see this result from your test. whoa! amazing! but what happened here?!? i hope you will get a stable one.
  7. Can you post a screenshot of your AP evaluation?
  8. try to remove then return the memory card on its slot, same with the ide or sata cable of your master drive.
  9. good luck. and don't hesitate to ask for help. TMN members are more than pleased to answer them within our capacity.
  10. it's ok now. do you still need to configure or not? anyways, i suggest you download <a href="http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html">WinPatrol</a> and disable the following items in the 'startup programs': Internet Download Manager (IDMan.exe; IEMonitor will also be disabled) Yahoo Messenger QuickFix jusched.exe also your nod32 is 'red' w/c means you disabled a function or you have to update the virus definitions. do not test if you are dowloading something or an online game, yahoo or any internet related program is running in the background. you can also get some tips and tweaks <a href="http://www.coolbusteratyourservice.blogspot.com">here</a> but come back at tmn later. btw, are you using a dns server other than the smartbro default, or a proxy?
  11. @ MjGodlike20, welcome to testmy.net we will be able to help you with your speed problem altho we have to do it carefully, gradually and patiently. first, cykad was correct in reminding you to post in english because it is a forum rule. second, may we request you to post full screenshots of your task manager window and the installed programs in the "add or remove programs" section of the control panel. your cooperation will play an important role in restoring, if not improving, your internet speed. Should we expect you to do your part?
  12. @ malleus. welcome to tmn. since you had experienced updating to 8.2.2, it is better if you do the update 8.2.4 yourself so that, you're not only learning, you will be the first one to do it. try Prizm too, it will increase your aggregates from 1mb to 7mb. i urge you to share what you will discover.
  13. 1) try to reinstall your lan card driver. 2) manually enter your IP address; dont let it look for a DHCP server. 3) if not solved scan for malware.
  14. @ianonline i wanted to have my own Prizm study but i need a license. can I possibly get one from you? rest assured, your generosity in this regard will not be overlooked.
  15. Windows XP's final day still June 30, but low-cost PCs get two more years. "Confirming the rumors that devices such as Asus' Eee PC are prolonging the life of XP, Microsoft today announced that the previously-established June 30, 2008 cutoff date for OEM and retail Windows XP sales was final, except for the new class of what the company has termed ULCPCs: Ultra Low-Cost PCs. The nebulously-named class of computers including UMPCs, MIDs, Origami devices, subnotebooks and even desktops that offer lower power have received the official Ultra Low Cost PC (ULCPC) moniker from Microsoft. Companies making these devices have also received an extended 2-year period (or until Windows 7 comes out, whichever is latest) in which their machines can come equipped with Windows XP, but only the Home edition of the operating system. Microsoft has said that the extension reflects the company's commitment to deliver "the right version of Windows for new device categories as they emerge." The company said today, "[We] recognize that there is a growing class of hardware-constrained, lower cost PCs that would benefit from a different Windows based solution. While Windows Vista provides an easier and more secure user experience, Windows XP Home provides an effective solution on these devices from a performance and cost perspective." In September, at the behest of both customers and partners, Microsoft pushed back the date for OEMs to cease preloading their "regular" systems with XP. As that June 30 date approaches, Microsoft has made it clear that there will be no more extensions, and mainstream technical support will be available only until April 2009. Extended support --for pay support and security fixes-- goes until April 2014. Microsoft was not swayed by the "Save Windows XP" petition, which has been signed by over 100,000 people asking the company to continue sales of the now 6 and a half year old operating system. 16. for an SMBRO package the advertised is 384kbps.
  17. there's nothing to worry about since you are not doing unit-wide changes, only the sustained links.
  18. if you're playing an online game or uploading photos and files, it's a ok to set it at 500/500. if you're downloading or just surfing, set it at 600/400 for DL and UL, respectively. save and then reboot the canopy NOT your pc.
  19. High‐priority Bandwidth To support low-latency traffic such as VoIP (Voice over IP) or video, the Canopy system implements a high-priority channel. This channel does not affect the inherent latencies in the Canopy system but allows high-priority traffic to be immediately served. The high-priority pipe separates low-latency traffic from traffic that is latency tolerant, such as standard web traffic and file downloads.
  20. you can alwasys change the data rates and aggregates but be careful not to touch any other buttons you are not familiar with. ok
  21. @ thegrail. you're welcome. first of all, we are very happy to have you with us on testmy. however, forum rules provide that we have to post in english only since this is an international forum. kindly provide a translation whenever you opted to post in our local language. anyways, i am glad that the 20 steps thread was able to help again. i congratulate you on your improved speed. my speed is caused by tweaking, details of which i have posted already on smartbro threads and posting them again would be redundant. read more discover more.
