  1. read this thread, it might be useful: http://www.testmy.net/t-18616.615
  2. Read our posts, forum link: http://www.testmy.net/t-18616.0
  3. Somebody found out that the LAN mess, re: from 100mbps down to 10mbps, is caused by SmartBro's QuickFix 2. Check out a post from one EKANS: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=18616.msg230763;topicseen#msg230763 Haven't tried coz I do not use QuickFix 2. Is this true?
  4. BTW, do not use the patch if you're NOT on XP Service Pack 2. The patch is used to tweak your tcpip.sys. Warning: If you do not know what you're doing, DON'T DO IT.
  5. I respect your comments regarding TuneUp Utilities. I use it as a pre requisite to tweaking. The applications in this software are really useful. Here's the procedure: 1. Tweak your canopy. 2. Use TuneUp Utilities to clean your disk and unwanted registry files, and for system control. 3. Use this patcher. Download the english version. Here's the link: http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads Set the value to 80 or 100 instead of just 8, 10 or 50. 4. Tweak your registry using CableNut.
  6. You should maintain it. Don't change the "color" anymore. I have been there past the 700kbps mark. I hope to have it again so I can post the screenshot. If its a bug, be thankful!
  7. @EKANS I got some nice apps that might be helpful in addressing your slow internet connection. Check out these links: https://www.speedguide.net/files/TCPOptimizer.exe http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/ I suspect your Canopy configurations is set to 384 kbps max by the tech people who installed your antenna. Make the default/override plug and configure your canopy software as stated in the previous posts. Consider also some helpful suggestions of others in this forum. Also, try to check if your canopy antenna is beamed to the smart cellsite. Maybe it needs a little realigning (or I may be wrong).
  8. I think SmartBro base station has been restored, I checked thru the speed test and I got this result: What about yours? Any update?
  9. Hello Guys Recently, a friend of mine accidentally checked the DISABLE button for "Access SM through Lan Card" or something like that and she cannot access her SM anymore. I suggested that she make a default/override plug. 1) Is there any other way aside from what I suggested? 2) Will she be able to access her SM again if she use her Mac Address even if her case is somehow different? Honestly, I was not able to open her Canopy using the Mac Address (or I did not figure it out correctly). Help, anyone? Thanks!
  10. hah of course not dial-up speed usually is 56 Kbps, isdn 128Kbps, ours is wi-fi of advertised max 384Kbps (your ave: 380Kbps). you are still lucky though. here's my score today -
  11. @bossjerjer are you from the visayas or mindanao? coz ur name sounds like a "nice thing" which is a street slang used by cebuanos or davaoe
  12. For the meantime, if you have problems on slow downloads we can always use fast download managers. Im using a program thats downloading 50-80 kB/s even if the test is telling me that my speed is only a little above 300 Kbps (divide by 8 = 37.5 kB/s). Research and patience are factors.
  13. i think everyone has the same problem. SmartBro speed is intermittent nowadays, I just hope this is because of upgrading. I've spoken to a SmartBro executive during a conference in Central Bank and she said they are working on provincial base stations. In Davao City, they're giving 512 Kbps to their subscribers for the same monthly fee of P999. She said this will be applied to provincial areas sooner, just didnt reveal the exact period. Well, I always believe that after the storm there's a rainbow coming out. Be patient guys. Be optimistic.
  14. @ thugster i'm not gourame and im not as good as him but i'd like to help. try my settings in my previous post, click this ----> http://www.testmy.net/t-18616.615 there's no harm in trying...
  15. there's a plan for corporate accounts. & the server speed soars high if thats the case.
  16. @jun101ph he's on smart bro? but nobody knows what plan he's enrolled with right?
  17. hello @ megabytes how did you come up with that speed? kindly post your tweak to help others
  18. @jun101ph i thought you already had high speeds? what's this post all about? hehehe
  19. as posted earlier, i have set 448 in the download channel and 448 also for the upload channel so its balanced right? further, you cannot set 1024 in the sustained uplink because it will always go back to the max value of 500.
  20. thank you guys for the inputs. anyways, let me clarify things. i used 448 both in the sustained downlink and uplink data rate; 1024 both in the downlink and uplink burst allocation, which means that "each set has equal values". my setting worked for me and i just can't complain. i am thankful i passed the 600+ benchmark.
  21. Let me add a few more tips: 1) If you are able to access your canopy as admin, try to put in the corresponding boxes in the Quality of Service tab the values 448 in the upload and download boxes and 1024 for upburst and downburst max. I dunno the explanation but it worked. 2) In j79's online computing prog, try to put 480 for download, 384 for upload and 220 for latency. There's no harm in trying. That will be all for now. Happy tweaking!
  22. This one's for CableNut (print this): 1. Download Cablenut http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/CableNut.shtml 2. Install CableNut, restart PC after installation. 3. Go to http://www.speedtest.net/ 4. Note your download, upload & latency values in Kbps. 5. Go to http://www.j79zlr.com/cablenutXP2k.php, don't forget to choose your connection carefully, then put your download, upload & latency values in the box provided. 6. Click "Compute Settings" 7. Then click "CCS File Download", save the setting to your desktop. 8. Open Command Prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns. 9. Clear your browsing history by going to internet explorer/tools/internet options/browsing history/delete/delete all 10. Go back to your saved CableNut setting on your desktop, double click, then save to registry, ok, done. 11. Restart PC 12. Your speed must be optimized now. Test your speed http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php i hope this helps.
  23. Im sorry, this setting adjustment is for TCP optimizer.
