oh, ok. btw, do i have to restart my computer for the proxy to take effect?
-
so that explains the high jitters. where is his location? we're getting a fair share of the storm too here in manila.
-
yeah, exactly.
-
so, are you using that white junction box?
-
yeah, but that rssi is still low. best bet would be to adjust the direction of the canopy. @scriva - is your canopy facing a building? looks like your installers didn'ttaketimeto give you a proper ap connection.
-
yes, except the white also has the ability to ground your connection.
-
yeah, no harm done in trying. if i caused them annoyance, its nothing to what they're causing me.
-
@coolbuster - maybe because you didn't need one. i have a laptop, so they gave me one so i can i have connection anywhere in the house. @mapuamj - you're topic fishing. please stick to one topic.
-
no point in posting it in a NEW topic. expect to be scolded by the mods.
-
the jitter is too high. expect an unstable connection.
-
hmm, so that must mean they have one around too, right? maybe it is a by request thing.
-
yes it does, i think. looks like you have to adjust the direction your canopy is facing, those APs are bad. jitter represents noise, or disturbance, in your signal. rssi represents signal strength. so you must have low jitter, high rssi

and again, save as jpeg file. you can't attach it if it is a bmp file.
-
oh, so there's no chance that they'll let me have 7Mb throughput then?
-
hmm, maybe i should join. add me up john_roger0816 at yahooooooo that is my real name, john roger. anyway, you don't want to post pics on the "post ur mug" thread?
-
@mapuamj - press print screen( Prn Scr), open paint, press ctrl+v then save as a jpeg. don't forget to erase things like your ip, that will compromise your security. @coolbuster - i can't open the black one. but all it does is connect two cables, in case the default one is too short to reach the PC. you didn't have to ask for the white box, they just gave it to you?
-
i'm also using firefox, i don't use IE anymore. you forgot to add a firefox version when you posted proxy settings, so here. 1. Click Tools>Options>Advanced>Network 2. Under Connection, click Settings 3. Enable Manual Proxy Configuration 4. Under HTTP Proxy, enter proxy.meridian.ph, under port, enter 8080 5. Check Use This Proxy for All Server Protocols. 6. Click ok

no i'm not. and i still haven't performed maintenance on pc yet, so it can be a virus or spyware. i'll try using a proxy now.
-
hmm, did the installers leave your color code like that? or did you change it? those values are too bad to have a decent connection.
-
i don't know what it is called, but what it does is ground your connection so your computer doesn't get fried when the canopy is struck by lightning. here's what it looks like without the cover and set up. the black wire comes from the canopy, the white/gray one connects to the pc, and the yellow/green wire at the middle goes to the grounding material(concrete, metal attached to the ground. the installers said it doesn't come with the package, but they have it so i think it is a by-request thing. or maybe they just got annoyed with me so they let me have it.
-
is that black box you're talking about the one in the first pic? (that's my bed sheet on the background, its a little dirty already) hey, just remembered, did anyone else asked their installers for this thing?

365 million. thats like spending a million each day for a year.
-
might as well add your hardware like your ram and lab card. anyway, do you think we should start a "help me with my smartbro internet connection" thread? or are we ok this way?
-
