  1. Yes. It is tethered to my Pc. Unfortunately its that or use dial - up. Out here in the country where I live that is all that is available. I mean, my speeds are between 250 & 300 down and 50 or so up, so it's better than dial up. I have thought of getting either hughesnet or wild blue satellite. I might check into it one day. Up front costs are so high though.
  2. Kewl. Thanks for the info. I don't know if my comp is up for it but willing to give it a shot. It is working in the background. Haven't seen any difference in my setup (speed, memory usage, etc) so I think it is ok. Glad to contribute to a worthy cause.
  3. When trying to look up the teams stats, does it always come up with this?
  4. Welcome aboard Silver Fox2. I myself am pretty new here. This forum can always use use info and help from its members. Hope you enjoy your stay, and again, welcome.
  5. This may help others who have the same setup. ****I guess I should put a disclaimer on this. This setup should only be completed by someone with at least moderate computer skills. I do not guarantee this will work for your computer. It helped mine greatly, and as such I figured I would pass along the information to someone having trouble with their Bluetooth device.**** Although I doubt that anyone has near the same setup as I do. I have posted it many times, but in case you don't know, I have an Alltel hue cellular phone that is used as a modem. I pay $25 a month for unlimited data usage. The phone is tethered to my pc via a bluetooth dongle. The reason I use a dongle instead of a usb cable is because the usb cable does not charge the phone. I would have to disconnect from the internet and recharge my phone every couple of hours. So a dongle connected to it allowed me to keep the charger plugged into my phone and thus no disconnecting every couple of hours. Unfortunately, I was getting very slow speeds with my Bluetooth dongle. I would get roughly 190 to 250 kbps. After this switch I now get between 230 - 350kbps. Not much speed, but hey, at least its faster than 56k dial up. Also I bought it off of ebay and the driver software that came with it was BlueSoleil. I hated BlueSoleil. It was hard to operate, and didn't work half the time. I had to pair with my Alltel hue phone(used as modem) every other log in or so. Unfortunately, with my sp3 update, the Windows Bluetooth stack was nowhere to be found. I did some searching and found that the Widcomm stack would be best for my setup. The enclosed guide was not made by me. Follow the instructions exactly as printed and you should have a great bluetooth setup. Also follow these posts, they will help tremendously. http://www.testmy.net/t-1013 http://www.testmy.net/t-18907 http://www.testmy.net/t-3924 I used this process for maximum bluetooth speed and capabilities. How to install Widcomm drivers What you will require: 1. Widcomm drivers (search the forums and locate the ones of your choice in this guide, I am using version 5.1.0.1100 obtained from: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=294359) 2. Widcomm patcher v2 (obtained from: http://allbt.land.ru/Widcomm_patcher_v2.rar) 3. Optional: Your original bluetooth drivers Step 1 (Preparation) First things first, if you have some bluetooth drivers already installed, you should find out who the manufacturer of your device is. This is because Widcomm/Broadcom 'broke' compatibility with other manufacturer's devices from version 5.1.0.1100 onwards. If you are not sure, I would recommend downloading 5.1.0.1100 just to be sure (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=294359) Next step is to obviously uninstall your current drivers (if you have any), which can be done from the Add/Remove Programs bit in Control Panel. Also, remove any bluetooth device drivers by using device manager in System (found in Control Panel): 1. Go to Control Panel, double click on 'System' 2. Click on 'Hardware' tab, then 'Device Manager' 3. In there, expand any bluetooth devices and right click and select 'uninstall' (Repeat for all Bluetooth) Now you may unplug your bluetooth device while we proceed. Step 2 (Preventing Windows native Bluetooth Stack) Then, you should remove prevent the Windows native bluetooth working: Make sure that you have enabled viewing of hidden/system files: 1. Press Windows key + 'e' key at the same time (Windows Explorer pops up) 2. Click on Tools (Menubar) > Folder Options... > View (Tab): 3. Enable 'Show hidden files and folders' 4. Uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types' 5. Uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)' - you might get a warning, click Yes/OK 6. Click on OK to exit. Now, go to C: Drive, Windows directory, 'inf' folder, in there you will find two files, bth.inf & bth.pnf. Rename both of these to bth.inf.old & bth.pnf.old (in each case, confirm with the pop up box). (Left click to highlight the file and press F2 to edit the filename) Now restart your computer. Step 3 (Getting your USB Bluetooth drivers ready) The next step is to find out if you have the original drivers for your bluetooth adapter. If you do, get them and on the CD, look for a file called 'btwusb.inf' which contains the information required to install your bluetooth adapter later on. If you get that file, copy it into the Win32 & Win64 folders of the Widcomm drivers folder. It should ask you if you want to overwrite, select yes. If you don't have your original bluetooth manufacturer drivers and you can't get them off the internet, then here is what I did: First of all plug in the adapter and let windows discover the device and let windows try to install it, but it will fail. Uncheck the 'Don't ask me next time'. 1. Go to Control Panel, double click on 'System' 2. Click on 'Hardware' tab, then 'Device Manager' 3. In there, locate the Unknown (yellow) hardware device, expand it and double click on it. 4. Click on the 'Details' tab and in there you should see a line similar to this: USBVID_13DD&PID_0001012B4A-5B-0002 The numbers might be different, but what we are interested in are the VID_XXXX&PID_XXXX (XXXX = 4 digit number). Make a note of them and then in the Widcomm drivers folder, under win32 folder, open the btwusb.inf for editing (prefereably in notepad). Now we will manually add our device. First things first, in the btwusb.inf file, do a quick search for your VID number (e.g. 13DD) and see if there are already matching entries for your device - make sure that the VID number and PID number are both correct. If so, then you don't need to edit the file. To search (if you are in notepad, press 'CTRL' (key) + 'f' key at the same time and type in your VID number and click on 'Find Next') If you haven't located your device, then proceed: There are three lines to add: -In [ControlFlags] section: -Add a line: ExcludeFromSelect=USBVID_XXXX&PID_XXXX (change the XXXX with the numbers from your device) -In [WIDCOMM.NTx86.5.1] section: -Add a line: %****.DeviceDesc%=BTWUSB, USBVID_XXXX&PID_XXXX ; My BT USB Dongle Where the **** is a string or single word in CAPITALS (e.g. your manufacturer's name ITECH) and the XXXX's are the same numbers as before (VID & PID respectively). Finally, in [strings] section: - Add a line: ****.DeviceDesc="My BT USB Dongle" Where **** must be the same word used in the previous step (again in CAPITALS) and the bit between the quotes can be anything you like - it will be used to display whatever your BT adapter is called in Device Manager. Try to stick with just spaces and letters. Now you can save the file and proceed with installation. Step 4 (Installing the Widcomm drivers) Now you are ready to install the Widcomm drivers, once again, under the folder, double click on setup.exe and the process should begin. Confirm whenever it pops up with the 'Warning, not digitally signed, continue?' box and mid way through when it says no bluetooth adapters found, just click cancel to proceed anyway. Once it has finished, you must restart the computer in safe mode to patch the bluetooth drivers. Step 5 (Patching the Widcomm drivers) Restart your computer and while it's booting up (you can see the black bios screen where it detects your CPU, hard drives, etc), press the F8 key repeatedly, maybe once every half a second, keep doing this and instead of Windows loading up, you will see a list of options. Select the option at the very top 'Safe Mode' and press enter. On entering safe mode, select 'Yes' to continue. Now locate the Widcomm_patcher_v2.exe program and double click on it. you will see three little dots next to 'BTStackServer.exe', click on those three dots and then navigate to (C: )Local Disk > Program Files > WIDCOMM > Bluetooth Software. In there you will see a file 'BTStackServer.exe'. Double click on it and the file should begin patching. (Select ok to continue) Next, another file appears, do the same as above, but this time the file is called BTTray.exe. Again, click ok once it's been patched. The third file to be patched is found in (C: )Local Disk > Windows > System32. It's a .dll file, but it's the same process as the above two steps. The forth step is also in the same location (another .dll file). Once this is done, you may reboot your computer again. Step 6 (Installing your Bluetooth USB drivers) You should notice that you have a 'My Bluetooth Places' Desktop icon as well as a little bluetooth icon in the system tray (that's red). We are nearly there. All we need to do now is to plug in your bluetooth device and Windows should pop up with a 'New hardware found' box. Click on Advanced install and uncheck everything except for 'search this specific folder' (not the exact words), and click on browse. The in the new window, navigate to C: Drive > Program Files > WIDCOMM > Bluetooth Software > bin, then click on OK and it should begin installing your device automatically. Once that is done, you should notice that your bluetooth icon in the system tray has now turned from red to white. You can double click on the icon and it should pop up with a wizard to guide you through the initial bluetooth setup process. Now you can start using pairing and using your bluetooth devices!
  6. You all have excellent ping times. Wish I were so lucky. My internet connection sux!!
  7. Yes, that is an awesome wallpaper. I keep changing mine around. Is there a program out there that can automatically change your wallpaper, say, every couple of days? I have attached a wallpaper that I won, yes won, lmao, on the Disney Movie Club. My Daughter is a big fan of Disney movies, so I had to join. Plus you get to win cool stuff like this wall paper. lol. Check that..sorry. You know, as you get older your memory fades more and more. This was one I won on ebay. They have a promotion going on for a sweepstakes for 4 to stay at walt disney world all expenses paid. I did win a wallpaper from Disney Movie Club too, but darn if I remember where it is. I put it in my pictures. Gawd I'm getting old, lol.
  8. It's kind of boring, but I will post it anyway. When I was growing up a young lad in beautiful old south cakalaki, I dreamed so much of leaving and never coming back. The hometown I am from only has one stop light, well, when it works. There is only one doctor in town, and you can carry Uncle Fred there to get his yearly flu shot, or you can also carry Betsy, your mare from the barn there. Well, not really that bad, the doctor was a veterinarian before he went to medical school though. So I promised myself when I left home, I would never come back. I was meant for life in the big city. So I joined the Navy right after high school. Many many years of travel and seeing the world was very fun and educational to say the least. But as the years went slowly by, and age started creeping up on me, I longed for those hot summer days sitting on my parents fronch porch swing, sippin' iced tea. I found that the same place I so desperately wanted to get away from, I now wanted to get to. While stationed in Japan, I joined an online forum for harley nuts(yes I drive a harley and I am nuts, lol) and wasn't sure of a screenname, so I chose SCDREAMIN3. I was dreamin' of South Carolina. Anyway that's that.
  9. I figured I would scare everybody off and post my mug. WARNING - VIEW ONLY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! Lmao. <a href="http://www.photolava.com/view/ia5d.html"><img src="http://img108.mytextgraphics.com/photolava/2008/08/02/me2-4bdyx3w72.jpeg" alt="Free Image Hosting - Photolava.com" /></a><br /><br />
  10. Dang, but that would take all of the fun out of nuns.com. Oh, wait, I didn't say that out loud did I. lol. Oh, but wait, I just looked it up and there is REALLY a www.nuns.com. Lmao!!!! Sorry, my bad. I better go say 200 hail mary's. But anyway, yea, I have my browser set up to cut down the images. It just amazes me how much of a difference there is in bluetooth and USB cable. I mean, the bluetooth is wireless so it should run faster, right? Not necessarily the case I guess.I am tweaking as we speak. I don't see that much of a difference in page loads while surfing the web. The major difference is when I download files on my p2p. LEGAL mind you. It went from 60-65kb/s to 30-35. BIG Difference. I am new to the Bluetooth thing, so I will focus my attention on tweaking it. Thanks for the reply.
  11. Ok, am I doing something wrong here? Or does the inventor of the Bluetooth Dongle need shot? I mean, just the item by its funny name ----Dongle. Dongle? Come on who came up with that name? lmao. Anyway, to the point at hand. I don't know if you may remember my setup for internet, so if not I will go into brief detail. I am running Windows XP on a computer almost as old as me (Pure conjecture, I don't think they even thought of computers when I was born. Lol, nah, I am not that old). It's a Dell Optiplex GX110 with a Pentium III /933Mhz/512 Mb ram/160 Gb hdd. I know, a dinosaur. It's my personal favorite though because if I fiddle around and break it I haven't lost that much. Heck I paid $18 for it on ebay, and the most expensive thing I put in it was the 160Gb hdd for $70, so yeah, I wouldn't be out that much.lol. Anyway, I am tethered to my pc with an Alltel Samsung SCH-R500 (Hue). I have the $25 unlimited data plan (WLS Phones as Modem), and until recently was tethered via USB cable. The only problem I had with that set up was that the cable would not charge the phone. I could be on the internet for maybe two hours and the phone would go dead. I had to stop and charge the phone, and start all over again. A real bummer. This is where the Dongle comes in. I had the bright idea of Yeah! connecting the phone to my pc via the Bluetooth Dongle and keeping my charger connected to the phone therefore it would not go dead every two hours. Well, the keeping the phone charged thing works, thank goodness, but the speed is not! Here is my average speed when connected via USB Cable: And here is my speed via Bluetooth dangitty diggity Dongle: Am I missing something, doing something wrong, or is Bluetooth, in essence, slower than USB Cable? If so I want my $4.79 back. lol, gotta love Ebay, my favorite place to shop. I can note one thing though. When I connected via USB cable, I used Alltel's Quick link mobile software. And that dialed #777 to connect to the network. The new Bluetooth software - IVT corporation BlueSoleil uses *99***1# to dial. I am not even sure if that is Alltel. I sure hope so. I don't want to see an enormous bill next month. When I tried to configure the new software to dial #777 I kept getting an error. So it's give up the convenience of being able to surf the internet for unlimited trips and time, at only 272 Kbps, or being stuck with having to charge the phone every two hours and speeding around at near 500. Any Comments and suggestions are very welcome. Thanks gang
  12. I kind of have to side with you Sequoia, on this one. The US keeps going into wars with the likeness of the "Big Brother", stepping in to resolve conflict between its spatting siblings. Unfortunately many times the siblings don't even want us to intervene, but we do it anyway. And you have heard it said, "to the victor goes the spoils". Where is the spoils? Maybe enough to pump W's pockets full of oil, maybe not. But if we are suppose to get the spoils, we are having a hel*uva time with it, seeing as how our deficit is $482-billion!! We step in to "help" out, but see no return of favor when needed, at least I don't think. It is going to continue and the US will no longer be the super power it once was. Heck even now we are not the super power we once were - the dollar exchange rates falling rapidly as we speak. Iran and North Korea could have the technology in the future to aim the barrel straight at us. And all is not well on the western front!! Over and out.
  13. Wow.You guys are still going at it? I have been away for a day and come back and its still going. lol. All I can say is Mudmanc4---Awesome thread. Wonder if you thought it would go this far. lol. But I guess when you talk religion, it is a never ending conversation. That video was REALLY!!!! unnerving. There are many things going on in this country that we do not know about(and probably really don't want to know truth be told), and all of the agencies we don't know about(and probably don't want to know about), being funded by all of the controversial private funders (that we probably don't really want to know about). Some of those private funders contribute to political figures to strengthen their campaign and possibly in return get favor? Obama's campaign declined public funds.-- Obama abandons pledge, seeks donor funds By Christina Bellantoni The Washington Times June 20, 2008 Presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama - the “people-powered” presidential candidate who previously promised to publicly finance his campaign - on Thursday abandoned that pledge, becoming the first candidate since the funding system’s post-Watergate creation to decline the money. The decision to forgo more than $84 million in public funds and instead raise massive sums from a 1.5-million-donor network was hailed by supporters as allowing his fundraising juggernaut - which went live with ads in 18 states Thursday - a clear advantage against presumed Republican nominee Sen. John McCain. But Mr. McCain, other national Republicans and some campaign finance reformers excoriated the senator from Illinois as breaking trust with voters. Mr. Obama is the first major party candidate to decline public financing of the general election campaign since 1974 when Congress created the system designed to reduce the influence of wealthy donors in politics. It’s a system Mr. Obama once said he “strongly” supported but now believes is “broken” and being manipulated by Republicans. The senator revealed the long-anticipated move in a Web video to his massive list of supporters, urging donations and underscoring the reason he is opting out. “If we don’t stand together, the broken system we have now, a system where special interests drown out the voices of the American people will continue to erode our politics and prevent the possibility of real change,” Mr. Obama said. “Join me, and declare your independence from this broken system and lets build the first general election campaign that’s truly funded by the American people.” McCain aides said Mr. Obama has proved himself a “typical politician” since he retreated from his pledge to “aggressively” try to reach an agreement, and the Democrat acknowledged to supporters it was no easy decision, “especially because I support a robust system of public financing of elections.” Mr. McCain told reporters Thursday he will stay within the public financing system and called the Obama decision a violation of trust that he considers “disturbing to all Americans.” “This is a big deal,” the Arizona Republican complained, saying Mr. Obama “completely reversed himself.” In 2000, Republican George W. Bush became the first candidate to scrap public financing in the primary, and most major-party primary candidates have followed suit. Sen. Russ Feingold, Wisconsin Democrat who partnered with Mr. McCain in 2002 to reform campaign finance laws by primarily eliminating the unregulated flow of cash to national political parties, disputed the Obama premise that the system is broken. Mr. Feingold also praised his own proposed bill to reform the system again, a measure Mr. Obama supports and Mr. McCain does not. The Feingold bill increases the public financing spending limits from $75 million to $100 million per candidate and eliminates state-by-state funding limits for the primaries. It requires disclosure of big donors who bundle multiple donations. “Senator Obama is committed to reforming the current system, and I look forward to working on this and a wide range of other reform issues with him when he becomes president. But this decision was a mistake,” he said. Mr. Obama, who had $46.5 million in the bank as of April, will solicit money from the same private donors who helped him raise more than $265 million since the campaign began in January 2007. Mr. McCain, who has raised $96 million to date, had $24 million cash on hand at the end of April. But when each candidate’s figures is combined with their respective party figures, it’s Mr. McCain with the advantage - something his team has been pointing out lately and a fact the Obama camp used as justification for the decision. The Republican National Committee’s $40 million cash on hand at the end of April brings the Republican Party total to $64 million on hand, while the Democratic National Committee’s $4.4 million in the bank gives the Democrats about $51 million in total. New figures for May will be released Friday, and both parties have been holding big-dollar fundraisers. The Obama campaign argued Mr. McCain forced the issue by using the Democrats’ prolonged primary season after he wrapped up the nomination to raise money and run a general election ad in Ohio 21,000 times. Obama aides said he had given a green light to spending from outside groups not governed by the same laws since Mr. McCain last week said, “I can’t be a referee” to which groups are running attack ads. The RNC lashed out as well, noting that the toughest ad on television - hitting Mr. McCain for his support for the Iraq war - is sponsored by independent pro-Obama groups MoveOn.org and AFSCME. They also noted that labor unions plan a $53 million anti-McCain campaign. Team Obama pushed back against broken promise accusations, saying Mr. Obama always said the two camps would have to agree. But aides said yesterday that Mr. Obama and Mr. McCain never personally met to talk about the issue and that the Obama campaign said no agreement was possible after the campaigns’ chief attorneys met for less than an hour earlier this month. When Mr. Obama began to back away from that suggestion during the primary season, his rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, New York Democrat, sharply criticized him for going back on his word. The McCain campaign also provided a “timeline” of his reversal that began with his February 2007 inquiry to the Federal Elections Commission as to whether he could raise money from donors but later return the money if the Republican nominee agreed to use only public funds for the general. “Should both major party nominees elect to receive public funding, this would preserve the public financing system, now in danger of collapse, and facilitate the conduct of campaigns freed from any dependence on private fund-raising,” the Obama campaign wrote the FEC. In a November questionnaire for the Midwest Democracy Network Mr. Obama answered, “Yes,” he would “participate in the presidential public financing system,” and even added: “Senator John McCain has already pledged to accept this fundraising pledge.” “I do not expect that a workable, effective agreement will be reached overnight,” Mr. Obama wrote in a USA Today February editorial. “When the time comes, we will talk and our commitment will be tested. I will pass that test, and I hope that the Republican nominee passes his.” Blogger Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos hailed Mr. Obama’s decision and said it would have been “political malpractice” for Mr. Obama to “tell his millions of small-dollar donors that they couldn’t invest financially in his campaign.” “Of course, Republicans will whine that Obama ‘broke his promise.’ They’ve got no other choice. McCain is getting crushed financially, and has little of the popular support that Obama enjoys,” Mr. Moulitsas said. Obama supporters also cheered the decision on BarackObama.com, which the campaign turned into a hub announcing the decision and urging donations under a “Declare your independence from a broken system” banner. Sheree Williams boasted that she had “just donated another $50″ and promised to give another $200 on June 30. “Who’s with me??? Let’s take back AMERICA!!!” she wrote. She exemplifies the Obama network - the average donation is $88, far less than the $2,300 And is the New Babel the technology of Biotechnical engineering? Did I get the answer right? What do I win? lol Check out this website. http://www.clonaid.com/page.php?8 Weird eh? And here: http://www.globalchange.com/clone.html Now I say that Obama wins the election and he clones himself and in 20 years Obama and his mini Obamas will take over the world.
  14. I have an alltel hue tethered to my computer and use it as a modem with EVDO. Unfortunately, my phone signal is not all that great, getting 48% on a good day. Alltel states speeds up to 1.5 Mbps down, I get roughly 1/3 of that. I can't complain though, after all I am running 6-10 times faster than regular 56k dial up. Plus, and I cant wait , I am getting my Wi-Ex Zboost cell phone signal extender in a week. Yayyyy. Thank you Uncle Sam for the stimulus check. lol. I think I will see a great increase in speeds.
  15. By the way, just a quick addendum. I don't think there is any reason to question Senator Mccain's patriotism, he proved it by blood, sweat, and tears. And ghostmaster, please don't think that I am discondoning your posts in any way. I looked back at a couple of my posts and it seems that way. I am just stating an opinion. Thank God we are in America where you can state your opinion. Anyway, this is the last post and all I have to say on the subject. McCain graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1958 and became a naval aviator, flying ground-attack aircraft from aircraft carriers. During the Vietnam War, he nearly lost his life in the 1967 USS Forrestal fire. Later that year while on a bombing mission over North Vietnam, he was shot down, badly injured, and captured as a prisoner of war by the North Vietnamese. He was held from 1967 to 1973, experiencing episodes of torture and refusing an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer; his war wounds would leave him with lifelong physical limitations. He retired from the Navy as a captain in 1981 and, moving to Arizona, entered politics. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982. After serving two terms, he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1986, winning re-election easily in 1992, 1998, and 2004. While generally adhering to conservative principles, McCain has gained a media reputation as a "maverick" for disagreeing with his party on several key issues. After being investigated in a political influence scandal of the 1980s, as a member of the "Keating Five", he made campaign finance reform one of his signature concerns, which eventually led to the passage of the McCain-Feingold Act in 2002. He is also known for his work towards restoring diplomatic relations with Vietnam in the 1990s, and for his belief that the war in Iraq should be fought to a successful conclusion in the 2000s. McCain has chaired the powerful Senate Commerce Committee, and has been a leader in seeking to rein in both pork barrel spending as well as Senate filibusters of judicial nominations. McCain lost the Republican nomination in the 2000 presidential election to George W. Bush. He ran again for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, and gained enough delegates to become the party's presumptive nominee in March 2008.
  16. Ok, all the flag on the plane issue aside. My question is this. What military experience does Obama have? 0 he never served his country in the military. And actually, what experience overall does he have. Surely you don't think that 2 years in the US Senate and 7 years in the Illinois senate makes a presidential candidate.I mean, don't get me wrong. He also taught constitutional law for 10 years and was a civil rights attorney. I just don't think he is ready for prime time. But that is just my opinion and I think I gotten way off topic, sorry Mudmanc4.
  17. What? OMG Coknuk. I wonder if his advisors made that decision, or if Obama himself decided to remove the flag. If not, Obama needs to get new advisors. Here is some of his staff, I think I will do some reading on who will actually be running the country if Obama is elected. http://www.superobama.com/obama-staff.php
  18. Mudmanc4, I think you opened up a can of worms, lol.
  19. Imagine how the US is going to be in the next 20 years. I feel bad that I brought a child into this mess. I will not go into religion, but this series is an interesting read, if you have not read the left behind series, please do.There are 12 books in the series, and they are very informative. http://www.leftbehind.com/channelbooks.asp?channelID=95 Yahaim wrote: Obama is the Anti-Christ. This is the evidence: 1.- He will come as a man of Peace (Obama promises peace in Iraq, defeat for the US) 2.- He will come mounted on a white Female horse(Obama mother is white who had 6 African husbands) 3.- He will come to deceive( Obama says he's a Christian but in fact he was born a Muslim, practices the Islamic religion, prays Friday
  20. Very funny stuff. Good post. Thanx. If he can't figure out how to use a shovel, how do you think he can run a country? EDITED: to remove dead link
  21. The poll is up gang. Sorry about that, I am new to forums. I guess I should have read the rules a little more closely. The instructions for starting a poll were a little vague, so I did a google and found out how to start a poll in "The embroidery forum." Wow, yes there is such a forum. Anyway, thanks for your patience.
  22. Well it's official, as you all may well know. Alltel will be merging with Verizon. I don't know the exact date. It is a real bummer, me being an Alltel subscriber. Currently I have my Samsung SCH-R500 tethered to my pc. I use my cell phone as a modem and only pay $25 a month for unlimited data usage. Verizon is coming in and I am sure that will change. Verizons data plans are limited. I think the highest you can use per month is 5GB for $59.99/month. I go through 5GB in a week. Anyway, I am starting this thread to see what thoughts everyone has on the merge. Please post. Thanks. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=planFirst&action=viewPlanDetail&sortOption=priceSort&catId=409&lid=//global//plans//wireless+internet+plan http://www.gearlog.com/2008/06/verizonalltel_merger_not_until.php
  23. Hi mudmanc4, and thanks; I am currently using cablenut. I have tried multiple settings but to no avail. Each time I change the settings, I do restart, but I guess I just cant find the right setup. A quick rundown of my setup - - I am connected to Alltel Axcess MobileLink via a tethered cell phone to my pc. The cell phone is a Samsung SCH-R500 (Alltel Hue).I can't complain much, as I do see speeds around 400-500 kbps, lots better than dial up 56k. However, Alltel advertises that they have speeds up to 1.5 Mbps, so I am trying to achieve that, to not much avail. Anyway, down to the details. I did 10 tests on Speakeasy, they averaged 467 kbps/down 61kbps/up. I am running windows XP SP 3. Although the Adjuster does not seem to have a setting for it. The newest version of windows it has is Windows 2000. I downloaded and installed version 4.08 of cablenut. Here is my TCP/IP analyzer test results:
  24. I am tethered to my PC with my Samsung sch-r500 (Alltel Hue). I have unlimited WLS internet phones as modem for $25 per month."Unlimited data minutes for connecting to the Internet and e-mail with no worry of exceeding your voice package plan. Use your handset to connect your laptop! Not available on Blackberry, Smart Phones, or Data Cards. An Alltel data kit is required." Out here in the Country we only have dial up and this was the best solution for my budget and area. Unfortunately my phone only gets a 41% signal so I can't come anywhere close the 1.5 - 2.1 Mbps speeds advertised. I have been trying to set the RWIN, but with not much luck.
