  1. HELL yes! ...got the last scan running now .expect email from me. Where's your Ogre?? You taking my suggestions..I just said your green giant needed some action and now I see you have your previous one walking all night for me again.
  2. Took Tommie's suggestion in chat and got the Ad-aware downloaded and installed and it got over 30 critical objects off. It was so bad that my scans were about frozen. It was taking hours for a 20minute scan. After I got off YIM with tommie , it started up. Guess YIM pulls alot. so, I stopped scan, went to safe and it got all the ones it had while I was out of safe and more and took only about 20 minutes. Then after , I did A- square and Super Anti-spyware, followed by V-cleaner. all in safe mode. I left the puter on all night and this morning. It hasn't been shut off since and its almost 1:30 pm. So far on the guest file , its running smoothly. Oh, And my AVG popped up 3 times last night in the middle of YIM and the 1st scan. ...4 Trojans found (Multiple threat on the last). I removed them. I should have printed the screen after I done my safe mode scan to show you , but hey, it was late and I wasn't thinking. Went to bed about 3:30 this morning. Yeah, this puter gets babied. It's my connection to the outside world .I am basically a hermit. I need to change that someday. May download the Malware protection one Coknuck has. Thanks guys from the bottom of my heart. :smitten:
  3. Dammit!! I was on guest account last night and I had a notice that Ihad 32 trojans on my puter. It recommended if I recall correctly something to download to remove it called Internet Pro. I was downloading it to check it out and I forgot I needed to be on Administrator to run it and when I logged in to A. account, nothing came up for me to continue. So guest account is screwey and has been for a while, for instance , it still freezes I noticed and everytime my kids want to go to youtube, they get "Bad Request" screens .I am frustrated as hell and this is my only computer and I am treating it like a baby ,trying to remove all this crap. any more ideas guys??
  4. I remember my late husband telling me once he swerved to avoid hitting a dog. Yeah right. then he said it was a big stick. He was so drunk, who knows for real. He was drinking with a friend and had just dropped him off. He turned our car over and it caught fire. .. full tank of gas. I could not even tell what color the car was after. Nothing but a shell. Babies carseats melted. He crawled away. He was alone. He never changed. Alcoholic. Bad memories.
  5. I used to have crawler smileys . I removed them. They interfered with my YIM smileys. I do not think my kids DL'd any. I know my daughter wanted some really cool ones she showed me, I told her no. I also have told them not to click on any ad's on the side of webpages as well.
  6. Yep! and gone too. Now I can chat faster and no rebooting.YIPPEE!
  7. I also just downloaded Spybot, search and destroy..I got this out of my computer just now.
  8. My oldest is so mad at me for removing her account. I told her only guest account is available now.
  9. Final Diagnosis: Between the restore point and the scan , I should be A- ok now!
  10. A-Squared found this in the first 15 minutes of scanning.. My other scans couldn't pull this out. Thanks again.
  11. Thanks Coknuck. It's downloaded.
  12. Restore Point completed. Now to sit back and wait. Thanks!
  13. Well...in that case. Talk me through it sometime
  14. I found this intersting if you could do similar with yours and bring up youtube from the U.S. http://blip.tv/file/1153954
  15. I removed my kids accounts. ..they will be pissed ... who cares. This is the only computer in the house. Is there anything similar that is totally free all the time?? If not then I will probably try it. Money is really tight right now. My puter runs smoother with all my kids stuff removed. waiting to see if it freezes again.
  16. I have had this used computer since May and it works fine til now. My kids and I all use the same computer, so there are a several accounts in addition to my administrator one. I have told them to never click on any "Ad's" as they have viruse's attached. ect....... No problem with it freezing up til now. I have run deep scans in safe mode and nothing but the usual tracking cookies, ect. No malware or trojans in quite a while . I remove those instantly. I have AVG free , superanti -spyware, spyware blaster, windows defender set up and some protection through firefox, that I use often. Do I have something embedded that these are not pulling out or blocking.?
  17. Hope all is well now. I am glad I have had no trouble with my bank card. <prays>
  18. (Email) Be sure to read Scene 3 Quite interesting. SCENE 1. This is a new one. People sure stay busy trying to cheat us, don't they? A friend went to the local gym and placed his belongings in the locker. After the workout and a shower, he came out, saw the locker open, and thought to himself, 'Funny, I thought I locked the locker. Hmm, 'He dressed and just flipped the wallet to make sure all was in order. Everything looked okay - all cards were in place. A few weeks later his credit card bill came - a whooping bill of $14,000! He called the credit card company and started yelling at them, saying that he did not make the transactions. Customer care personnel verified that there was no Mistake in the system and asked if his card had been stolen. 'No,' he said, but then took out his wallet, pulled out the credit card, and yep - you guessed it - a switch had been made. An expired similar credit card from the same bank was in the wallet. The thief broke into his locker at the gym and switched cards. Verdict: The credit card issuer said since he did not report the card missing earlier, he would have to pay the amount owed to them. How much did he have to pay for items he did not buy? $9,000! Why were there no calls made to verify the amount swiped? Small amounts rarely trigger a 'warning bell' with some credit card companies. It just so happens that all the small amounts added up to big one! SCENE 2. A man at a local restaurant paid for his meal with his credit card. The bill for the meal came, he signed it,and the waitress folded the receipt and passed the credit card along. Usually, he would just take it and place it in his wallet or pocket. Funny enough, though, he actually took a look at the card and, lo and behold, it was the expired card of another person. He called the waitress and she looked perplexed. She took it back, apologized, and hurried back to the counter under the watchful eye of the man. All the waitress did while walking to the counter was wave the wrong expired card to the counter cashier, and the counter cashier immediately looked down and took out the real card. No exchange of words --- nothing! She took it and came back to the man with an apology. Verdict: Make sure the credit cards in your wallet are yours. Check the name on the card every time you sign for something and/or the card is taken away for even a short period of time. Many people just take back the credit card without even looking at it, 'assuming' that it has to be theirs. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, DEVELOP THE HABIT OF CHECKING YOUR CREDIT CARD EACH TIME IT IS RETURNED TO YOU AFTER A TRANSACTION! SCENE 3: Yesterday I went into a pizza restaurant to pick up an order that I had called in. I paid by using my Visa Check Card which, of course, is linked directly to my checking account. The young man behind the counter took my card, swiped it, then laid it on the counter as he waited for the approval, which is pretty standard procedure. While he waited, he picked up his cell phone and started dialing. I noticed the phone because it is the same model I have, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Then I heard a click that sounded like my phone sounds when I take a picture. He then gave me back my card but kept the phone in his hand as if he was still pressing buttons. Meanwhile, I'm thinking: I wonder what he is taking a picture of, oblivious to what was really going on. It then dawned on me: the only thing there was my credit card, so now I'm paying close attention to what he is doing. He set his phone on the counter, leaving it open. About five seconds later, I heard the chime that tells you that the picture has been saved. Now I'm standing there struggling with the fact that this boy just took a picture of my credit card. Yes, he played it off well, because had we not had the same kind of phone, I probably would never have known what happened. Needless to say, I immediately canceled that card as I was walking out of the pizza parlor. All I am saying is, be aware of your surroundings at all times. Whenever you are using your credit card take caution and don't be careless. Notice who is standing near you and what they are doing when you use your card. Be aware of phones, because many have a camera phone these days. When you are in a restaurant and the waiter/waitress brings your card and receipt for you to sign, make sure you scratch the number off. Some restaurants are using only the last four digits, but a lot of them are still putting the whole thing on there.
